Why is it these TV guys can shoot guns, blow up bombs, crash cars, and dive out windows, never wearing hearing protection, and are not deaf? That makes me say hmmmm.

Just like when you see a LAW rocket blow up an entire building. They never worked that way for me in the Army.

Overall though I still enjoy the show. Better than a lot of things that are on at that time.

They didn't work for me that way either. Unless that building has an ammo magazine for the LAW to bounce into....

On the other hand I did have my ears ringing for a week or two due to losing my hearing protection one night just before a live fire exercise in Basic Training. Me being too afraid to tell a Drill that I'd screwed up I went and ran a couple hundred rounds through my M-16 with no hearing protection. I remember how badly that hurt and how long my ears rang. That's why when I see this stuff in movies and TV it puts me off totally.

Which takes me back to my first sentence. Never seen it. Doubt I ever will.

On the other hand, it's almost Baseball season, and I have HD coming! \o/

Yeah I used to pitch overhand softball for about 4 years before I went in the Army and I pitched the grenade like a softball. That pissed off the instructor as I nearly hit the top of the wall as he jumped on me and slammed us both to the ground.

That happened to someone in our company. Clipped the top of the wall, but it did bounce over. I didn't see it as I was in a throwing position down the line. I heard it was one really scary moment there at the time.

Ian will catch my post count by the end of the week. I'm posting between emailings and phone calls. Most days I don't even have time to do that.
