Guys:

I'm on a dual Opteron 250 CPU, 4x 36gb 15k scsi, hardware RAID 10, and 4 GB of RAM.

My entire mysql database was under 1GB, but even after dropping the old 6.5 tables, I'm up over 1.6GB now for 7.02

Anyway ....

When at 6.5, things blazed, always. Now, with 7.02, I'm getting this type of stuff:

Generated in 41.518 seconds in which 41.497 seconds were spent on a total of 11 queries. Zlib compression disabled.

I just ran a search, within two years, all forums, subject and body, and I got this:

Generated in 44.582 seconds in which 41.907 seconds were spent on a total of 11 queries. Zlib compression disabled

I refreshed my stats script ( http://www.24hourcampfire.com/stats.php ) about twenty times during that search, and my server load climbed from about .5 to about 1.7 and then tapered off.

That is a deadly generation time.

7.02 CAN'T be this less efficient than 6.5!!

All other vaariables remain. Since 7.02, I'm hitting serious server lags.

I'm all ears as to what to do.

One thing - have you tried enabling Zlib compression?

Control Panel » Primary Settings » Advanced Options » Enable zlib Compression?

Definitely try it. I'm not sure why it defaults off, truthfully...

It sounds like potentially it's not using the full text indexes for the search. Everything else seems to be coming up quick. I went to one of your larger threads and chose to disply all and got:

Generated in 0.039 seconds in which 0.008 seconds were spent on a total of 13 queries. Zlib compression disabled.

But the search is definitely slower, and it seems it might not be using the indexes. If I can get your admin username/password either in a PM or a ticket I can take a look and see if it's using the indexes for your searches.

Overall there are less queries in version 7 than in version 6 and some things are cached so they aren't queried as often as they were before.
