Hi All, As a long-time UBB customer, I am looking to upgrade from UBB.classic 6.5.0 to the latest version of UBB.threads. 1) Would I qualify for the $149 upgrade pricing? 2) I can dig up my License number but it's on a computer that is not hooked up right now, and my e-mail address has changed so, I would be listed under a different e-mail address (jrobill@jackrussells.com). Could someone send me my license to my new e-mail address (on this profile)? 3) Is threads now entirely stored in a database now? The reason I ask is because I want to integrate chat and the chat solution will use the forum login credentials for seamless chat login from the forums if the forum login information is stored in a database. I may have more questions but don't want to overwhelm you. Thanks for continuing this downloadable forum solution! Bill

Hi Bill,
1) I'd need to get a link to your forum to give an actual quote on the upgrade. You'd be looking at a 2 part upgrade as we'd need to upgrade your classic version to 6.7.3 and then install threads and import your data.
2) I'll see if I can find your license this morning.
3) Yes, we use a database for everything except for the portal boxes that you see on the sides here.

Ok, just waiting for my registration to be approved so I can take a look at the size of the forum. One thing to note on the import. We can import all of the data itself, just not the "look" of the forum. Meaning, we'll be able to move over all of the forums, users, posts, polls, etc. but not the color and general feature settings.

Rick, I just approved your membership. Over the years, I actually downloaded many of the post topics from the server to keep the forums a bit smaller - but I haven't done that in a number of years now. So, if you need me to shrink the forums a bit first, just say the word. I'll be happy to assist. Thanks much! Bill

Ok, I really didn't go to your personal web site to see porn, but I *did* think about that when I hovered over your "My Personal Website" link. I like the look of your site!! Nice!! I registered. Thanks, Rick.

Ok, for your forum, we could do it for the "New Install" price of $199. That would cover all steps of the upgrade/import, upgrading you to classic version 6.7.3, then installing UBB.threads 7, and then importing all of your data into it. You'd probably be looking at around 3-6 hours of downtime depending on how fast the import goes.

Sounds good. So, when I'm ready do I just click the "Order" link next to "New Install" on the order page and complete the order process? Would you all handle the upgrade and install or would any tasks be mine?
Also, is the Admin Control Panel very similar for both versions in overall functionality?

the admin panel for UBB.C looks ultimately exactly the same as UBB.C
Also, if you need assistance in creating a style there are several users (myself included) that provide such services (and many others as well).

I think in your version the admin control panel might be a bit different now, we modeled the .threads control panel off of the latest version of UBB.classic, but it's very easy to get around.
Yes, once you go through the order process, we'll have it in our system to get it scheduled. We'll handle everything once we have all the information that we need.

I believe UBB.C6.5 started with the "new" cp.
