The bottom of each post on my forum shows both buttons and text: How can I turn off the text, leaving only the buttons?

This has been mentioned on the forums, I beleive you need to update the style.
Not 100% sure - but if you do a search you should find the answer - I will have a look shortly if you have no luck (or if no-one else posts with the answer)

I followed all of the instructions on installing the 7.1 upgrade. During the installation, I read the part on the new stylesheet classes. I tried to look through the control panel to see if I could figure out what it meant, but wasn't able to figure it out.
Can someone explain what Rick means when he discusses the 3 new stylesheet classes, and what I need to do?

Do you upload the new images? reply.gif etc. its now a very small one symbol only. Seems you miss this.
Please read the link above carefully again. You go to your control panel in the style editor, welect your style and edit it . Then go to the classes decribed in the link and you see the class contains noting. There you enter the proper text, press preview. After finished dont forget to save.

Zarzal,
I think you're getting me a little closer. I have not ever made any changes in the style editor, but your post helped me find where the stylesheet classes referred to by Rick could be found.
I went to the style editor and opened up Post Properties. When I choose .post-buttons, an empty box opens up underneath. I'm sure I'm missing something basic, but I have read and re-read Rick's post and still can't figure out what I do to fix the buttons.

If you're still seeing the old images, and you have uploaded the new ones. Then it's possible you're browser has the old ones cached. You can try doing a shift-reload or just close down your browser and reopen it so it downloads the new images.
Here is what we have in the stock style that ships with UBB.threads for the .post-buttons:
border: 1px solid #AAAAAA; font-size: 9pt; font-weight: bold; color: #357082; background: #DDDDBB; padding-left: 2px; padding-right: 2px;
