What are the plans to add a payment solution to threads? Is it on the whiteboard?

It's something I'm looking at for 7.2. I was going to get it into 7.1, but it's an area I have little/no experience in, so it's going to take a good chunk of time devoted to it.

In short, yes, something like that...
Some ideas I've brought to rick on the matter: Paid Groups, you pay, you play... Basically you pay, you get added to specific product groups, these groups can be either private access, anti-ads, etc. Donations through your forum - basicaly added to the above, only strictly in a donation matter.
I'll have to lookup my thread for others, i just woke up (5pm, oh yeah!)

Its basically memberships or donations. More you pay more you see or use Gold, Silver, Bronze Memberships. Include an expire if you can also rick, if its going to be a subscription service. I'm pretty new to the money idea's but i have registered with other forums and paid for the privalige. With a renewal attached too. Cant wait to see it in action.
BOOM !! Version v7.6.1.1 People who inspire me Isaac ME Gizmo

I think we should add a paid group at ubbdev for those who want to remain admins.

I'd be interested in a PayPal solutin too. I take donation for an organization, sell a few simple items.
I'm looking at PayPal and finding their "sandbox" a little strange to navigate through.
I'm also php challanged!!! Is there a "php for Dummies" book out? I'm trying to pass a "Dsiplay Name" to PayPal so it can come back with the payment. Can't find any sample on their site.
I'll be watching for Rick's work on 7.2

I'll be watching for Rick's work on 7.2 I use PayPal Marketing tools to make donation links as well as "shoppping cart" for items. Its really pertty easy to use once you get used to it. I bought a pretty good book on PhP called "PHP and MySQL Web Developmemt by Luke Welling and Laura Thompson. It starts out with a good basics tutorial on Php, then one MySQL, then ties the two together. Its just the right level for someone just learning and also serves as a great reference. Basil

Yes there is a PHP for dummies book out, but its worthless... Get "learn php in 24 hours", its at least fairly decent...
Though i have a ton of those laying around lol

Rick, I've read positive reviews of aMember Pro for other PHP software projects. I'm fairly certain this could be integrated with Threads by creating a plugin. Your software already has Group Management Permissions. Using a plugin to determine various permissions of a user is one way to go. The paid member database would be managed by the aMember software, and the plugin could sync permission status for users before displaying requested content. You might already be working on this or aware of a better subscription management system. I'm interested in making it happen and might donate some time to write code if need be.

That's quite pricey for what most users would want... The UBB in general is, and I doubt most people would be interested in paying for another product to monitize their site... At least at that pricetag :x...
