I know you can do a "Display Name Search" through all the posts to find a user.
However, when on the Member list page is there a way to search only member records by name or member #?

Sorry, I meant from a user's perspective -- someone who wants to find someone to send them a PM.
As it stands now, you either have to see a post and click on their name, have them in your buddy list, or scroll through the list of names on the members page. With a big user base, they have to do a lot of scrolling to find the name.
I guess this is a feature suggestion. There should be a way to search by member name or # while on the members page -- as in UBB Classic.

What you will begin to understand that there are some of the favorite features or ways of doing things in classic but are missing in v7 threads.
No one's actually said that they would never return
but as feature requests there making there way back in.
It can be frustrating, i found it that way at first too,
but if i thought about the things i can do in V7
and i couldnt do in classic, V7 is ahead of the game for me.
Members will come around,
and it wont be too long before you forget how classic worked lol..
So time will convert you and your members.

Some "other products" have a search box on the member list where you can enter a "portion" of the users name and it'll bring you to a list of specific users matching that query... I think this would make a good additon to threads

Sounds good. Yes, I'm not looking back on Classic. Full steam ahead with Threads. Maybe a mod can move this to Feature Suggestions.

Ajax search results on members name would be cool display as you type Not sure how well that would work on a large site though as the more little items you add like this the more queries you have going on in the database. Might be okay on many sites but could bring some of the bigger sites to a crawl maybe.
