They are old, Mark. Those women you were looking at this morning were probably "captured by Google" anything from days to months ago. At the time you posted it, it was 7am-ish here in Florida, so it would have been about 4am in California. They were definitely not out there sunbaking then.

It's clearly taken at street level.
I guess Google throw in a few of these pics and then generate some (what's it called?) (viral?) images - to make it look like they are in control of the planet?

I just asked my hubby (who knows everything about everything), and he says it's probably satellite images. He says they are very high resolution and can capture images along the "skin" of the earth. Then he said something about "mosaic" which got way too technical for me, and I sorta tuned out.

It's banned in my house and has been for about 5 years now.
Rose, it's a soap on the BBC but it's the most depressing, misserable TV on the planet. Nothing but fighting, shouting, back stabbing, etc, etc, etc. but definately NOT entertaining. Why anyone in their right mind would want to sit down in front of this crud 4 or 5 nights a week is beyond me.
