All importers are taking a back seat to the release of 7.1 at that time they say they will put some time into other importers.
As to when or if they will do one for Fusion I'm not sure but I"m sure that Rick or one of the Mods will say for sure soon.

I hope the phpbb one is finalized... It's almost done in the first place lol... phpbb has an importer for just about every other forum, so you'd think people could use it as a "shortcut route" from other solutions...

All new importers will be created for the current version only (UBB.Threads7); it'd be redundant to create one just for 6.5 when it's not even a current codeset (as UBB.Threads was completely recoded in 7.0)

I was asking if one was currently in existence. I guess not.

I was asking if one was currently in existence. I guess not. All currently available importers can be found in the members area, these include: PHPBB UBB.Classic 6.7.x UBB.Threads 6.5.x Rick has stated that he's planning on working on more importers after the release of UBB.Threads 7.1 which is currently in Public Beta release 4.

I'd immagine it'd only be in the member area, except for testers; you could also obtain it through the Groupee Support.

Groupee is the "new company name" for Infopop; their tech support is generally where you'd get licensed support (specifially for issues such as importers for your forum outside of the member area access).

I'm starting on some of the importers now. I need to finish the phpbb and eve importers. Both are very close. Then I'll probably do vbulletin and fusion. These will all be in the members area. Not sure why that's a bad thing, since you'd need members area access in order to download 7.1.

I know that I for one would be interested in this story. I can't conceive of a reason why you would need an importer into 7.1 but not need 7.1 itself. I've got time. How long can your story be? No need to pretty please. It'll be in the Member area when it's done. I'll be the guy putting it there.

Well, no disrespect meant, but I'm right now running a forum with fusionbb (legal) but I want to run VB. Currently no importers exist. What I want to do is use your converter to convert fusionbb to ubb, then use impex (which i own legally) to convert that to vb.

Well, at least your honest But, the importers are meant for our customers and will definitely be in the members area so you'll need to have members area access to get it.

All "official" UBB Code is licenseware, may it be the importers, or the script itself; you'll need a UBB.Threads or UBB.Classic license to obtain the importers as they're official code for the UBB.Threads7 product. To use the importers without a license would be a license violation for whomever provides it.

I'm pretty sure you could do much the same through phpbb however, they tend to have an importer for just about anything lol

I believe development was turned at 7.1.1 to fix several bugs which where making the UBB near impossible to run on some servers; I believe that the eve importer is nearing completion and that PHPBB/vBulletin/FusionBB are those which will be worked on and should be quite abit easier to deal with.

Importers just take quite awhile to do. I did finish the Eve one, currently working on the vbulletin one. The reason they take so long is I basically have to figure out the entire database structure of the forum we're importing from in order to bring everything over. Some of the database structures are pretty complicated and not easy to figure out.

I believe Sirdude was working on one. I think it's probably going to be done after 7.3 is out however, since we're totally revamping the permission system for 7.3, and that way he can get it to import more completely.

yes, Rick got it right. i was steaming ahead and pulling it into 7.2, but then realised he's putting in a permission matrix (7.3) that will probably be very nice for us to import INTO. (yes, giz even global moderators too ) fusionBB 2.1 has such a beast, albeit it won't be as nice as Ricks (yes i'm biased) sooooo, i screeched the brakes on it for now and am trying to coincide with 7.3 or just after 7.3 (ie wait for it to settle a bit).. the importer would be affected by using bitwise or'd permissions or tinyint(1)'s for example.. then we should be able to go fbb2.1 --> ubbt7.3 one thing they have is that famous salty password, so i'm not sure if we won't force users to have to initially re-set their psw to get it going.. now, one thing i thought of.. was just to salt the psw's the same way in 7.3 (would affect upgrades) and *poof* done.. looks like fbb does their salting the same way that vbulletin does.. (just a random muse there) bottom line: i'd call this baby percent complete at 65.34% (kidding) it's about 60/40 right now..
