I have a 6 digit ICQ  I used to have a Trillian license, can't find it any more. Tried pidgin, couldn't get it to run. On my Mac I use Adium. Similar to Trillian but better as it's less bloated with crap that only two geeks in MIT would ever use. Simple fact, just because you CAN make and add a feature doesn't mean you should.

Well have not tried Trillian in over a year but considering my young adult kids no longer use it due to missing features (which was a complaint of mine before as well for all the knock off replacements) I can not endorse them.
They're okay I suppose for basic chat but if you try some of the more advanced features they did not support them (not sure of now days though)
Live, Yahoo, AIM original clients, but rarely use them. If I use one it's typically Live Messenger

Your english is much better than my german. I can see where it would help me to learn another language to always have to post in that language - maybe we can require gizzy to reply to everything in french one month, german the next and italian the following month. He'd learn new languages and might actually drop off the spammer list
