I found this resource and thought it was worth sharing.

Bookmark & Share will allow your visitors to add any page to their favorites or blog sites with one click. The link can be added to a custom island and will add the page you are viewing to the following bookmarking services:

Definitely interesting; I scoured the web for different services when I made my code for my articles script; this seems it'd make things far easier on me as i wouldn't have had to toy with a ton of things and then research then code :x..

hmm.. I have Post Island, Gallery Island and Custom Island..
I assume you mean Custom Island?
Then Left or Right column? How can I get it below a post?

He means Custom Islands. And left/right is at your disgression, on where you want it to be.

As for if you want it below a post, you'd have to edit the template and place the code where you want it. This would be showflat.tpl

Or post_top.tpl and post_side.tpl. Those handle the actual display of the posts.

True, I should have expanded...

showflat.tpl and showthreaded.tpl are pre 7.2.2; post_top.tpl, post_side.tpl, and showflat.tpl are 7.2.2+.

Thats interesting. Can someone hand-hold me through this (ie code to change) as I would like to try it out.

I asked my code-related questions over in the other forum.

My question for you guys is about the search engine friendly URLs. Up until now I've used normal URLs but the normal URLs (with the ? and &) screws up forwarding. However those normal URLs are deep in all sorts of search engines by now.

If I change to search engine friendly URLs will the old URLs still work too, or is it a one-or-the-other thing?

They both will work fine after you change.
For instance this post non search frendly url would be:
https://www.ubbcentral.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=229890.
The only thing I can see is when the search bots hit your site they will start to re-index the site using the new urls.

OK I've turned on search engine friendly URLs. It's looking good!

Oddly the social networking buttons work perfectly for everything BUT the very first entry. I'll have to figure that out.

In the meantime though I am trying to get those buttons to move away from the profile cube. Right now they sit under the person's info which makes it seem like you are going to THEIR Facebook page, Twitter page etc. I want them next to the edit / reply buttons. I tried putting code into post_top.tpl which is where I see those buttons, but nothing is showing up!

Where should something go, to sit alongside the reply / quote / quickreply and other buttons?

You're looking for the post_side and post_top .tpl files. You'll see the bit in both where it has the section for all of the buttons.

I changed the code further down in post_side and voila! it worked!

Do I really have to touch post_top? When I changed that, nothing happened ...? I had to do a fair amount of tweaking in post_side to get the footer area to look nice so I don't want to do that sort of work "blind" in post_top.

I think you have it nailed. I tried to login to see if it interferes with the stock buttons but I am not getting my lost password email.?????

Okay. I noticed it went offline for a few.

post_top will need to be edited for those of your users that have selected to have the user info displayed on the top of the post rather than the side. This is done in their preferences. So those that are currently viewing it that way will not see the changes done to post_side.
