MSN Blocks My E-mails again... 2nd time in 6 months.. I dont even use the mass email at all so this can only be down to members watched items. No errors or notice that this was happening, but a few new registrations were complaining that they had not received there verification e-mail. They blocked all associations, being sent from my server. .co.uk .com etc.. To get in touch with them gods. https://support.msn.com/default.aspx? Helpful Information forSender Information for Hotmail Delivery Sender Information for Hotmail Deliveryhttps://support.msn.com/default.aspx?productkey=edfsmsblAfter filling in the forum you should get a reply, and that goes something like this. Hello, We see that you do have SPF/SenderID records, which does positively impact the reputation of the sending IP. We reviewed your SPF record and note that it terminates with ?all. To maximize deliverability we recommend changing it to -all. You may also wish to reference RFC 4406, "Sender ID: Authenticating E-Mail", which defines the Sender ID specification. It is available at: http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc4406.txt At this time in our investigation, we strongly recommend enrolling in the Junk Mail Reporting Partner Program (JMRP). This program is a long-term solution that we offer as recourse for senders who have been blocked because of Junk Mail Reporting (JMR) by Hotmail Customers. Enrollment in this program will benefit you as a sender as it will keep your e-mail lists updated and populated with interested MSN Hotmail Customers. Participation in this program will remove those MSN Hotmail Customers who do not want to receive e-mails from your company. Please be aware that this is not a 'Safelist.' If your company's sending IP continues to exceed the allowable number of complaints it could be blocked again. This program is not nor is intended to be a solution for blocks initiated by our SmartScreen or Brightmail Spam filters. I hope that you will investigate joining this program. I believe that it will offer a valuable service to our mutual Hotmail customers. If you are interested in joining this program please visit: Http://support.msn.com/eform.aspx?productKey=edfsjmrpp&page=support_home_options_form_byemail&ct=eformts. The troubleshooting steps in this email are recommendations only. Microsoft makes no guarantees that following these steps will guarantee deliverability to MSN, Hotmail, or Live.com customers. Thank you Mandi Windows Live Hotmail Domain Support So now ive registered on that program and await a reply with in 24hrs. I got the first reply within 2hrs of filling in the form. Its now been 12hrs since i first reported it and 2 hrs since joining the program and my forum e-mails are still not getting to hot mail, or live accounts. I will test it again in the morning, but ive been blocked by my ip so if there was anyone else on my server they would also encounter the same problem. I have had this previously and it all came good after 24 hrs. What a pain in the ass and something to be aware of folks. They recommended this change. Is it a Threads thing or a server thing? (See above email). We reviewed your SPF record and note that it terminates with ?all. To maximize deliverability we recommend changing it to -all. Thanks for any help or advice.

Okay ive now got a reply from the JMR Program Hello Mark, Thank you for writing to the JMR Partner Management Team. This is Mark and I will be assisting you with your request to join our program. MSN Hotmail has a Junk E-Mail Reporting (JMR) Partner Program to help organizations maintain mailing best practices by unsubscribing unwanted recipients and ensuring clean mailing lists. We are pleased to inform you that xxxxxxxx.co.uk has passed the initial qualifications for enrollment into the JMR Partner Program. Our next step would be to establish a Junk E-Mail Reporting Agreement with your organization. However, we are unable to establish any connection between your company and the IP's xxxxxxxxxx and yyyyyyyyyy This will not delay the enrollment process; however we will not add the IP to your feedback loop until we receive some confirmation that you have exclusive sending rights. An email sent directly from your ISP should be sufficient. They can e-mail the confirmation at this address: [email protected]. Please put the xxxxxxxxxx as the subject. Once we receive the confirmation, we will continue processing your application. Please note that the intent of this program is to provide you with a list of users that wish to be removed from your mail distributions. Participation in the program does not guarantee that your IP will not be blocked in the future and that individual blocking / un-blocking issues will still need to be handled through the Windows Live Hotmail Support Team. Regards, Mark The JMR Management Team All this hassle for MSN accounts Welcome to the web eh !

To fend off the SPAM control kings that run blocking sites. They're a good idea I suppose but a PITA when you have to deal with them and you're in a hurry.
Microsoft is not the only one playing in this game.

Well its 24hrs since i reported it to Microsoft and my e-mails are still getting blocked from my forums to MSN account.
Ive now sent a support ticket to my host asking them to send a "I am" to them..
This is a pain in the butt seriously. No wonder registrations slowed to a stop.

MSN Are Peeing me off now big time,Its still not allowing e-mails. There awaiting verification from my Host. Which i requested 10hrs ago. It must be with this new "live" mail and reporting stuff as "Safe" or "Not Safe" and ive had a few people probably saying its not safe, for being lazy. Joining this program, i'm assuming they can provide me with a list of e-mails to disable. And then something like this will be worth its weight in GOLD Clicky Click

We have identified that messages from your IP (xx.xx.xx.xx) are being filtered based on the recommendations of the SmartScreen filter. SmartScreen is the spam filtering technology developed and operated by Microsoft. SmartScreen is built around the technology of machine learning. SmartScreen's filters are trained to recognize what is spam and what isn't spam. In short, we filter incoming emails that look like spam. I am not able to go into any specific details about what these filters specifically entail, as this would render them useless. Well its not that smart is it if i cant see that e-mails from my forums are not spam. ![[Linked Image from wikiwirral.co.uk]](http://www.wikiwirral.co.uk/forums/images/graemlins/default_dark/wiki_mad.gif) I've been SmartScreened !! by Microsoft. Your last reply dose not help my situation at all and one of the link in the e-mail dose not work. http://postmaster.live.com/Guidelines.aspx I'm asking for some human interaction at this point. Spam emails do not get sent from my server. Your Smart Screen Filter - is not that smart ! Because i dont spam from my server. You have wrongly blocked my e-mails. You keep sending my very technical reasons for why and what that to be honest just go over my head. Ive subscribed to your JMRP program. And still have to wait for you to here from my host. You have mistakenly blocked my server address with your smart filter. And because of this i could loose money and clients, as like my self do not understand why. From this side, Nothing has changed from this week to last. This server has been sending pretty much the same e-mails for almost 4 years. Last year after a re-install of my server you blocked me and then after filling in this form you allowed my IP to pass again, That was resolved in less than 24hrs. This is getting close to 48hrs now. I have spent too much time with you and your super spam filter to justify the hassle, and is it worth it. But your actions will cost me in client trust and possible new or lost revenue. I'm asking you release my IP from your SPAM Filter as it has wrongly been tagged. We dont send spam. I dont understand half the questions your asking and the technical replies your sending back to me are even worse. With broken e-mail links included, how am i supposed to check things out. The bottom line is from my seat nothing has changed, my server has been running along nicely for 4 years. So I can only say your Spam Filter Program has wrongly detected my server and its mail as spam. We have members of our forum, who subscribe to e-mail notices, they have to opt into this, its not automatic so any one who gets e-mail has asked for it from registration. There are several ways to unsubscribe, but if they choose not to turn it off or contact me, the easy option your provide to a msn user is "Its not safe" and that is the flaw in your fantastic program, msn users use that option for eaise of use and its people like me who abide by the law and run a clean and successfull forum are being peinalised for msn users being lazy. Why should i have to suffer and clients suffer also. You could have given me 2 weeks grace to help resolve this so no one was put out. I stand to loose clients if this unfair block continues. Please forward this message to a supervisor of sorts as i am of the very strong opinion that your Super dooper spam filterhas mistakenly tagged my IP as spam..... M That should help me sleep tonight

Ha ha I'm frustrating them by sending new tickets. Why they ask and the answer is they have my e-mail blocked (Doh). Reporting-MTA: dns;ext-imc-02.partners.extranet.microsoft.com Received-From-MTA: dns;tk5-exhub-c104.redmond.corp.microsoft.com Arrival-Date: Wed, 12 Mar 2008 03:29:52 -0700 Final-Recipient: rfc822; [email protected]Action: failed Status: 5.1.0 Diagnostic-Code: smtp;554 5.1.0 Sender Denied Well i got a little more help from them. Hello Mark, We are aware that you need some assistance, however there still remains the issue of the spf records. We see that you do have SPF/SenderID records, which does positively impact the reputation of the sending IP. We reviewed your SPF record and note that it terminates with ?all. To maximize deliverability we recommend changing it to -all. Currently it reads as follows; v=spf1 a mx ip4:xx.xx.xx.xx ?all You can easily correct your SPF record via our Sender-ID wizard located at http://www.microsoft.com/senderid/wizard Note this wizard provides flexibility to customize your records. To maximize compatibility and deliverability among receiving networks we strongly encourage you to NOT include a "PTR" record (as also discouraged by the IETF in RFC 4408), and to create a record optimized for BOTH the "Mail From" and the Purported Responsible Address, (PRA). You may also wish to reference RFC 4406, "Sender ID: Authenticating E-Mail", which defines the Sender ID specification. It is available at: http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc4406.txt Just a reminder, it is very important that you reply to our original emails as we have to connect the threads in an ongoing investigation. We also need confirmation from the application to join the JMRP. Do you have the SR# from which you enrolled? Regards, Cheryl Ann Windows Live Hotmail Domain Support So ive had to manually modify my TXT Record with in my domain. TXT "v=spf1 a mx ip4:xx.xx.xx.xx ?all" Origional TXT "v=spf1 a mx ip4:xx.xx.xx.xx -all" amended If they want me to change them all that's 70 domains on my server i will have to adjust the DNS Records? Ive just asked them if its the server and all accounts or is it only my forum domain, which they have not made clear yet. I'm still awaiting to here from my Host. Is it correct to change the ?all to -all

Now i have an e-mail for the Junk Mail Reporting Program. But they fail to remember that the account they sent it too is still blocked <GRRR> Thank you for writing to the JMR Partner Management Team. My name is Angelie and I am writing in response to your request of joining the Junk Mail Reporting Partner Program. I know how important this is for you and I look forward to providing you with the necessary assistance.
We have received the confirmation of exclusive sending rights from your ISP. Please be guided that Windows Live Hotmail has a Junk E-Mail Reporting (JMR) Partner Program to help organizations maintain mailing best practices by unsubscribing unwanted recipients and ensuring clean mailing lists. We are pleased to inform you that xxxxxxxxxx has passed the initial qualifications for enrollment into the JMR Partner Program. Our next step would be to establish a Junk E-Mail Reporting Agreement with your organization. Our preferred method of establishing this agreement is via digitally signing of the JMR Reporting Agreement. To set up the digital document and provide signing instructions, we will need the full name and email address of the person with authority to sign for your company. Please note, if the company name in the previous paragraph is incorrect, please include the correct name. When we have all this information an email will be sent to the signer with a link to our digital signing site. The digital signing process is simple and in most cases much faster than signing and mailing a hardcopy of the agreement. If you prefer you may sign a hardcopy agreement and mail it back to us. If this is your preference, please notify us via email at this address and we will send you a copy of the partner agreement for signature. Please note that the intent of this program is to provide you with a list of users that wish to be removed from your mail distributions. Participation in the program does not guarantee that your IP will not be blocked in the future and that individual blocking / un-blocking issues will still need to be handled through the HM Support Team.
If you have any questions, please feel free to respond to us at the address that sent this email. Thank you,
Angelie A. The JMR Partner Management Team Now i just have to wait again. Looks like i will have to manually update all my domains with the new TXT settings for the DNS. I just love the fact that your Guilty before innocent with Microsoft.

Yehhhhhh i can now send e-mails to hotmail, live accounts again.
What a load of hassel.....
From the above, then then sent me an e-mail saying they heard nothing from my Host about my IP addresses.
Wrong. I quoted them there previous e-mail saying they had recived it, pretty much called them incompertent and requested a supervisor to deal with it.
I was sent a Link to this JMRP (Junk Mail Reporting Program). Log in with the details i gave them, and also a CODE that came with the last e-mail.
Done some digital signature document thing and submitted it. I now have a "Control Panel" of Sorts with an in and out box? In there is my JMRP Agreement and that's it.
So that's Done i had to reply to them saying "Hey Mr Microsoft ive jumped through your hoops" So now i'm waiting some kind of spam list or something, because this "Round One" shows nothing?
I followed there advice and selected forward reported to a dedicated e-mail account...
Beyond that i continue to wait.

Is this one of these corporate deals where you have to pay them to allow your emails to go through to their clients?
I bet every real spam email that gets sent to the users on their system gets through with no hassle though. I have had problems for years with yahoo, hotmail, and excite refusing to deliver email coming through my servers or generated by my systems.
I'm doing maybe 500 to 1,000 post a day on my message board and get new registered members every day. most of them use some sort of free email place like hotmail or yahoo.

No its free. Well i was encouraged to sign up to it or be blocked.
I'm an individual not a company so that screwed Microsoft and they had to send me the digital forms to sign again. <doh>
So ive been approved since 10am today and not one spam complaint yet?
Like i say its probably some lazy ass msn user that just hits "Not Safe" instead of un subscribing to the notices.
I hope this topic helps someone else. Will keep you updated.

I never used too, but if your away from home and your pop account then msn, yahoo, and such is all you can use.
And more people are using them, for the simple reason being they can change ISP and loose there "e-mail address" so staying with a hotmail or similar allows friend and family's to keep in touch even after years have passed.
But this isnt just because i have my forums. This is because x amount of people have hit the "is not safe" button.
So if you have clients on your server, they will be blocked too...
Microsoft insist on you jumping through hoops first.

Because they are doing what they can to slow spam? I hate spam quite a bit more than I hate MS Mark posted in the first post where he was requested to make a change from ?all to -all, several days and lots of complaints more he's still posting that they're requesting him to change ?all to -all Plus waiting on his ISP to send some requested notification... it doesn't sound like the delays were all MS's doing

I showed in the post they blocked my e-mail. Day 2 ? THUR I wanted to know if it was all my accounts, as they did not make that clear in there e-mails, and I wanted to check that it wasn't just MS doing the "Our way or the Highway" Tactics. The change from ?all to -all was done the same day. But i dont think i had mentioned that at my best guesstimate msn had blocked me for 2 weeks before i was aware of it? It was only because a friend 2 weeks ago, said his password never arrived. He was on "Live". So my frustrations to msn IMO were justified. They didn't even send a e-mail to say i had been blocked. I have a contact us page etc..... But the other customers that i have on my server there e-mails were also blocked to msn, live, hotmail accounts too. So i was Guilty before innocent and that's what boils my p. --------------------- The Bottom line is that my ip was tagged as spam because some git couldn't be bothered to log in and switch off there e-mail notices... Its easier to hit " NOT SAFE" in msn and then they just go to spam. They admitted to me that they cocked up... Saturday (Day 6) Thank you for writing back to the JMR Partner Management Team. I have read your previous e-mail messages, as well as the responses of other support representatives. This is Paul and I gather that you want to join the Junk Mail Reporting Program.
Mark, we apologize for the confusion that this issue has caused. I checked our records and verified that we did receive a confirmation message from your ISP regarding your exclusive sending rights for the IP addresses, xx.xx.xx.xx and xx.xx.xx.xx. We appreciate all the information that you sent. I will take the responsibility in making sure that your concern will be given priority.
If you have any questions, please feel free to respond to this email with any questions. We look forward to your participation with the program. Then they cocked up the Digital Sign as i'm an Individual and not a company... As far as i'm concerned, i done what I could as quick as i could, and a series of errors and poor information from microsoft about how and what to do, makes them IMO the reason for the delays. I for one was furious that this happened at the expense of my domains and the others on my server. Dont forget this is the first time around with microsoft and there clamp down. I hope the information i have provided helps others that get caught out. All this and ive never even sent a mail shot :omg: So be warned.... You could be next... You can always do what I am doing on my board and release something like this and give them a notice and a heads up at the same time. MSN.com, Live.com, and HotMail.com have implemented some new security measures taking place mainly on MSN and Live sites. These upgrade are slated to be implemented fully in HotMail in the near future.
What the upgrade brings is a new feeling of security for the email user but a night mare for the providers or services mailing to users in the Microsoft realm. This upgrade is designed to stop ALL spam and regulated by the user email interface allowing for each user to tell Microsoft who spammers are. This is a great Idea but implemented poorly with the usual Microsoft flaws and oversights. The spam still makes it through but legit automated email from systems like ours get caught in the cross fire and allows for ANY user to black list our servers in their firewall.
If a newly registered user of ( Your Forum Name Here ) or even a past registered user decides they no longer wish to receive email from our automated system that includes Private Message notifications or even post notifications and elect to stop then using Microsoft's new system by clicking the "Not Safe" over changing their settings for those email notifications on our site here it will ban our entire server from sending email to every registered user on our system to their email clients.
In this case we would need to spend days of filling out forms and requests to Microsoft to have our server taken out of the banned list. This is not permanent as the next time some one clicks the "Not Safe" link once again we would have to start all over again to have our service cleared in the system to send out email to users on the Microsoft system.
The flaw is that the people sending all this spam email change servers per email volley as to evade this filter.
We at ( Your Forum Name Here ) and the ISP owner, ( Your ISP Name Here ), are not going to be wasting time with Microsoft on a weekly basis to continue to have our users receive email from our service to a Microsoft email address. We intend to not allow the use of any email address on those systems to be used in registration here at ( Your Forum Name Here ). Please remember that you must maintain a valid email address where we may reach you at any time per the TOS to remain active on our site.
Those of you currently using a Microsoft email address of such will need to find a new free email provider and update your current email address in our system to continue to receive email notifications from registrations and other services on or through our message board.
We are sorry for the inconvenience this may be causing our members from the stand point of large corporations not seeing the entire picture when it comes to spam email. We also do not condone spam email and are thankful for those companies that are taking efforts to stop or limit these practices thought the internet however, it would be great if the strive to stop spam email practices were designed not to hinder legit operations but actually help against spam email messages.

To ask users to change long-time email addresses just because your site has an issue with them is almost as bad as asking them to change to your favorite browser. I'd imagine <10% would think it's worth it, they'd just move on to more user-friendly sites. Mark posted in the first post where he was requested to make a change from ?all to -all, several days and lots of complaints more he's still posting that they're requesting him to change ?all to -all ......... it doesn't sound like the delays were all MS's doing Sorry Allen your wrong.. 2 Days?Day 1 WED : was wasted as they bounced back my replies. I was just going by your posts on the first page: #208376 - 03/11/08 02:58 PM - first post #208503 - 03/13/08 09:19 AM - when you first mentioned you have changed the setting You can't buck the microsoft's/yahoo's/google's/aol's of the world unless you really don't care that you are going to cut significant portions of the net out of your site. You can do what it takes to make your site accessible or just quit whining about the results if you don't. There are *plenty* of sites out there who will do what it takes to get over the hurdles... it's called customer service.

Yeah well, When you get blocked and no one not even new registrants can get email from your site then thats a very large issue too isn't it?
How do they validate their email address if they cant get that email? How do they get approval message if they cant get that email?
Wouldn't that make you look ever worse?
I have a hotmail account my self.
Customer service is great for a company that is making money from their message board but when you are a free site providing something free then how much time do you spend chasing around companies like Microsoft catering to their every change?

There are *plenty* of sites out there who will do what it takes to get over the hurdles... it's called customer service. Err what did i do? Ive got it resolved, so my customer service must be top notch then. -------- No Notification that my server had been blocked. (poor customer service). And poor support from Microsoft about the steps to take. My replies show there short comings. Earns me the Right to "whine" about them. --------- In the UK most people have some kind of Hotmail, live, msn e-mail and one of the reasons for it is that the parents (home Owners) take out an account with there Internet provider. But then they either don't like the crazy ISP e-mail address assigned to them, or they don't know how to set one up. It is Much easier to set up a Homail, live or msn account and then be able to log in and use that one. Its just easier. ---------------------- I know there trying to cut down on spam etc.. But a notice of sorts even if its to my HOST about the block would have curved my anger, but NO its Microsoft playing GOD again. As ive said before just because someone, hits the "Not Safe" instead of un subscribing which causes the whole incident i deem grossly unfair. -------------------- 4 years with out any problems. Which means sod all to Microsoft. It will and can happen to you one day too. And when you realise the incompertance at there end you too will become frustrated as in your other ear your customers are asking why and you have no answers for them except "Welcome to Microsoft".... The whole process to me is Guilty then prove your innocence now wheres the Justice. Its got nothing to do with customer service from my side. Its Microsoft playing GOD again. Mark

How on earth could they ban an entire host in response to *1* report of "spam"??? They don't think people hit those buttons even accidentally or something? They can't wait until there are, say, 250 or 500 reports before using such drastic measures?? Or even 5000? Spammers don't send out 1 spam message, they send out thousands or even millions!

In order to stop spam email and be effective a new standard will have to be implemented on how banning and related procedures are placed. All networks will have to start allowing MAC Addresses to be seen across networks and start banning by MAC Address.
If I wished to send out a million spam email messages I would first start by finding a server designation like mail.yourdomain.com then write a program to fake my email header to have ever one think I am from that server. I would then send to every known email address combination on every major email service I could think of.
If that email account don't exist that i was sending to I would not care as the bounced email is going to go to some dude's server and not me looking like they sent it to the internet as their email server header is the starting point. Now if the MAC address is readable through the entire process and also included in the networks ability to locate a particular mac address you will find where the spam is actually coming from and be able to block that MAC Address or even that networks IP Gateway.
If you really want to spam you can even hide your IP by using a proxy.
If you wanted a superior baning and filtering method you have to go by MAC Address as domain names and IP's can be spoofed to easily. To change a MAC address is not as easy as changing IP addresses. Every piece of network equipment in the world has a MAC Address and I have personally never seen two alike.

They havent said how many reports so it could be 1 to who knows how many? What i can say is that is not related to any mass mail because i haven't done one with Threads 7. Its either the subscriptions that people have set up, or lazy sods just clicking "Is not safe".. Basically even after enrolling in there junk mail program right now i have no idea of who, where, and when, or even why someone has reported the issue as spam, or how many. So i have to take it for face value with out proof that my Ip's were tagged as spam. Kinda makes you mad when you have done nothing different since the day you started (+ 4 Years)..

Well you may think that's a good idea but is child's play to change your MAC address and all other types of Tom Foolery for the real SPAMMER - which now days is a bit more dedicated than in the past.
Currently there is no fool-proof method as you can not force others to use what you're using. Digital certs would be a good step but again with thousands of mail providers it isn't going to happen in my opinion.
Someday something will happen, but don't think it will be any time soon.

The last time I checked a "Digital cert" cost $2,500 a year counting 16 servers that would cost $40,000 a year not to have someone try to send spam as you.
Not worth it really. I would rather just pull the plug as us small guys really can't afford that. And before you come back with something like well then blah blah blah about being small I would appreciate it if you didn't.
I know all us small guys rally should just lay down and let big corporate companies just take over the internet entirely, LOL.

On the contrary I have no desire to slam you.
I'm not a large Company either. I own my own site that I paid for out of my own pocket.
I was simply attempting to let you know that whether you're big or small it's an issue and the MAC address thing is not going to deal with the issue.
We do 75 million dollars a year in business sales and we send out a lot of sales material and I have to jump through loops all the time because of this mess so I would love to see a fix as well, but currently there just is not anything that can or will work and be accepted by everyone.
I feel your pain daily. But technology and costs can not currently solve it. Part of the growing pains of becoming a World Wide connected community of computer users.

75 Million a year is not a small company.
You can see the link in my signature. We work on donations and we do not get near a grand a year with everything for that site. The site is on a dedicate server running on a dedicated IP address. I paid for the software, server, and everything else out of my pocket.
If you were me would you jump through hoops for that?
I'm at the point where I am ready to just pull the plug and call it quits. I just looked at my server logs for yesterday alone and had 2784 hack attempts on just that server.
After I get finished my $25,000 a year day job I come home and work on my virtually non existent ISP trying to get new customers starting at $15 a month for server space and take care of all the problems with the message board as well, I then try to take time to write code for web based programs to earn a few extra bucks for groceries and gas.
I just wish I was "not a large Company either" I would just hire someone to take care of the servers and programming.
Yes I do expect to get slammed after this post and pretty much got use to it too. I really don't care anymore I will just go away even further and give up totally. My wife wouldn't mind as then I can spend more time with her as she really don't have much time left with us anyway.

I hear ya and I feel for ya dude... The 75 million a year is not MY company, it is my day job where I work as an IT Systems Engineer.
My site is for my own stuff and has nothing to do with where I work.
If you're doing this for money then I think you see it's no money maker for most of us. I do it because I love computing.
I would venture to say that Rick isn't riding around in a Mercedes Benz from the money he makes here off of UBBT
Hang in there guy and hope things work out better for you.

Thanks Gizmo, You made me smile today.
Thanks ntdoc. It's has just been a bad year for all us small guys out there. The economy is bad, business is bad, and its just hard to want to keep going for many of us. I still hand in there every day trying to make things better and make a buck too.

Hi Lockman, I notice a total lack of advertising on you site. Is this something that your users would object to?
I'm not talking pop-ups etc - just a simple tower or banner to try to get some revenue.
Or is that a non-starter?
