UBB.threads PHP Forum Software Community Forums UBB.threads 6 Version 6 Support 6.1.1 to 6.3 HELP!!

I optimized the database, backed it up.

Then, I uploaded the 6.3 files, changing the path in main.inc.php.

The I ran altertable-6.1.1-6.2.php, and I get this:

HELP!!!!!

I uploaded the files, called up altertable 6.1-6.2.php, and I get this:

Converting old poll votes from username to usernumber..
SQL ERROR: Unable to do_query: SELECT DISTINCT P_IP FROM w3t_PollData
No Database Selected
Warning: Supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /home/twenty4hourcampfire/ubbthreads/mysql.inc.php on line 131
Alter the Boards table to drop the Bo_Moderators field...
SQL ERROR: Unable to do_query: ALTER TABLE w3t_Boards DROP Bo_Moderators
No Database SelectedSQL ERROR: Unable to do_query: ALTER TABLE w3t_Users DROP U_Post_Format

What now? I HATE upgrades!

Rick

Did you overwrite your config.inc.php file? It looks like maybe the dbname value in that file doesn't exist so it can't actually select the database to work on.

Rick:

That must have been it. I went back and re-uploaded the old config.inc.php file and ran the altertable again, and it worked. The only thing I got was a fatal error when running altertable-6.2-6.3-replies that said something like:

Fatal error: System timed out at line 1849.

What should I make of this error? Everything seems to be working fine.

Thanks.

As the UPGRADING.html file says - your browser may time out on the altertable script - depending on the size of your database. It's OK - MySQL and the process continues and completes. So all should be fine. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="images/icons/smile.gif" />

Hi,
I also have a problem with:
altertable-6-3-replies.php

is runs some time and then I do get an "Internal Server Error"

I repeated this action several times but it kees on failing ...

two questions:
1. how to solve ?
2. can I re-open the board in the mean time ??

There is a "fix" to this here:

If you want to rerun it.
