I guess it depends on why? The island just shows how many posts a user has made. If you deleted a lot of posts and it still is counting them you could run the cp>> content rebuilder>>Rebuild post count

See the top posters on the left in this forum... it says (30 Days) how do I do that?

I think it was added in 7.4; it'd be: CP -> Portal -> Portal Layout -> Enable the "Top Posters (last 30 days) " option.

Ok. Thanks.
Back to my original question how do I reset the post count to zero? I'm assuming the count right now is from all time.

Never tried it so don't know how it impacts to operation of the forum. But the top poster list just pulls total posts from the user_profile table, It is not just a special field for the island. So resetting the field to zero will impact the total posts when displaying a profile as well as when viewing the user list and total posts when viewing a topic.
Maybe someone else will chime in.

I think the users total posts are stored in the db; so you'd update the "USER_TOTAL_POSTS" value in the "USER_PROFILE" table.

update ubbt_USER_PROFLE set USER_TOTAL_POSTS=0 zeroes them all out.. but MAKE SURE THAT IS WHAT YOU WANT!!! cuz it makes everyone have 0 posts from that point on.. they they start counting up from there..
