Hello again..... I just enabled a Gallery Forum and set the permissions and when I try to upload a picture - the pop-up window shows me this: File Manager: You can attach 20 photos. Max. file size is 0 Bytes. I have been over the permissions 2 or 3 times and cannot figure out what the issue is. Also am I to specify a storage place for them on my server? Thanks!

You need to set the max image size for your groups in the permission editor for your groups; these numbers are set via bytes.

Do I go to permissions --> forum permissions or do I go to forums --> group management?
If I need to go to the listing(s) and change there - I have already done so (used default 250000 or whatever it is).

Control Panel ยป Forum Permissions Select you gallery forum Maximum size of gallery images Set this in bytes per group Also there is a note below the field on this setting. That will show the max file size set by php.ini. "If this forum is a gallery forum, this setting dictates how large each image may be. Max size set in php.ini is 2M, so you may not exceed this size." For my site it is 2MB. Double check yours to see if it is set to 0.

I have tried this a number of times - still nothing.
When I go to select the Forum - in the drop-down list I selected the Forum then pressed the SWITCH button - is this correct?
This particular Forum is not an "open" Forum and only a select few have access per the top 2 or 3 settings; do I need to leave 'Users/Guests set to 0 or does it matter if they can't see the Forum?
Thanks.

That is correct select the forum from the list and click on switch. What is the size setting in php.ini I mentioned? If it is 0 then no matter how large a file size you enter it will be limited to whichever is a smaller size.

Here's what it says: If file attachments are enabled in the forum, this dictates how large each file attachment can be. Max size set in php.ini is 250000000 so you may not exceed this size.

One other item to mention (not sure if relevant)... I am clicking on the Image Manager link in the Post Options dialog area.

It sounds like you're editing the file attachments permission when you need to be editing the gallery permissions. You want to edit the permission "Maximum size of gallery images" since this is a photo gallery forum.

Here is the blurb from the "Maximum Size of Gallery Images" box: If this forum is a gallery forum, this setting dictates how large each image may be. Max size set in php.ini is 250000000, so you may not exceed this size.

So set the other (attachments) to zero??? The gallery and attachments features are independent of each other.
