Insert FLV into a new post

Can someone tell me how to insert a .flv file into a post - the source is located on my server. I have tried several types of html code to no avail.

Well. A .flv file is an un-compiled flash file. A .swf file is a compiled flash file that will play on a web page.

Come to think of it I think a .fla file is a un-compiled flash file.
