Recently one of the members in my friends wall on Facebook posted a touching video that is a must see so I thought I would share it with the community. This can be said for all that serve to protect our rights and freedom from all nations.
Don't ever post this again. What a guilt complex it imposes on all of us. It is easy to forget the sacrifices our people make for our freedom here in the USA. Then looking at this video just makes me feel like a POS.

My nephew did several tours in Iraq, was a newly married man. He came home to find that his wife spent every penny he made while in Iraq and had been with another guy pretty much the entire time... I find it cruel how easily some people can just "forget" the people who go out to defend what we take for granted...
I can't speak for today. But in my day they called the number on the draft card a lottery number. I was two numbers away when Nixon stopped the draft for Vietnam. Today I am not so sure it was a good or bad thing.

there has been no draft, every there is there because they chose to enlist.
they might not have chosen to go to Iraq, but they did choose to wear the uniform and defend the rest of us.
one of my best friends that I have known since 3rd grade is coming home from a 1 year tour in Iraq in a couple of weeks, he will be home for a year, then off to Afghanistan for a year. I actually got him to join, I had joined first.. he stayed in, I didn't.
and you don't have to like or support the "war", but support the men and women fighting and dieing there.
"No matter where you go, there you are." "If you can't do something smart, Do something right" "There are three kinds of people in the world, those who can count, and those who can't"
Exactly the chose to join the forces - it is a safe job for many (safe as in no real threat of the company going bust).
I am sure they do a great job, helping to secure the oil (why did the US/UK invade Irag and not Zimbabwe, North Korea or other areas of the world that are run by dictators where people are suffering?)
We all have to endure the propaganda put out by our own governments on these so called 'wars', but it doesn't mean we have to shout it from the rooftops every five minutes.
If it wasn't for the people who fought in the first and second world wars you and I might not be here now (or if we were life would be very different) - remember the true heroes and not those who are now just doing a job in the same way as firefighters, nurses, police, mountain rescue, lifeboat crews, sea rescue teams etc.... Can't say I see many stickers saying support these guys and gals?
(sorry I am not anti-war, just anti-jumping on the bandwagon and thinking these people are any more important than the ones mentioned above who go about their jobs without any heroism)
