I (as well as a bunch of other users) have my notification turned on to email me when I get a PM...
This does not work for any of us...
Was wondering if there is something in the control panel that can toggle this on or off?
Any ideas?

As long as the forum/server is sending out email properly then that's really all there is. It's also pretty common for these to end up in the spam folder if it is sending them out.

Hmmm...
It works fine sending out birthdays, password resets, admin emails I send...
Just not the PM notifications...
Wonder why that is?

Did you double check enable the notification?

"Do you want to be notified via email when you receive a private message?"
Maybe it was turned off in error.

When I read this I was absolutely appaled that you would think I was that big of an idiot as not to know if it was turned on !
I couldnt believe that you even suggested it...
I went to check anyway, the whole time saying to myself, "I CANT BELIEVE HE WOULD EVEN SUGEST THIS!"
Guess what... It was OFF... HAHAHAHA WHAT AN IDIOT !

Well I was afraid I might have insulted you with the suggestion.
But the only reason I did suggest a double check was another user a while back had a similar problem that had the notification enabled via the registration page and all of a sudden new registrations were not getting notified even though it was still enabled on the registration page.
So he never checked a users preferences. Just assumed it was still set.
Bottom line, when you registered, the notification was still appearing as yes but the field would be set to no.
Would be nice to figure out how that can happen.
Possibly a specific from and to version upgrade?(Guessing)
I think Rick worked on that problem. So maybe he can recall what caused it.

i've seen inconsistency with how the field is interpreted.. ie: yes, no, and 'On' (no corresponding 'Off') for example..
when just a yes/no would be proper.. or really 0/1, imho..

my email notification gets turned off when ever I update my profile, that happens to the members as well.
