Hi - we have a fresh install (version 7.5.4.2) that we are trying to get ready for launch. When clicking the Approve Posts link in the Control Panel we get the following message:

SQL Error: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ') ORDER BY t4.FORUM_ID,t1.POST_ID DESC' at line 10
SQL Error #: 1064
Query: SELECT t1.POST_ID,t1.POST_SUBJECT,t3.FORUM_TITLE,t1.USER_ID,t2.USER_DISPLAY_NAME FROM ubbt_POSTS AS t1, ubbt_USERS AS t2, ubbt_FORUMS AS t3, ubbt_TOPICS as t4 WHERE t1.POST_IS_APPROVED = '0' AND t1.USER_ID = t2.USER_ID AND t1.TOPIC_ID = t4.TOPIC_ID AND t3.FORUM_ID = t4.FORUM_ID AND t4.FORUM_ID in () ORDER BY t4.FORUM_ID,t1.POST_ID DESC

I have not touched the PHP code, and can find no posts regarding this bug. Is there a patch or a setting I am missing?

On a side note, where in the world does the admin moderate posts? We keep looking and looking and cannot find the interface to delete posts anywhere. Its such a basic function, you would think it would be mentioned in the documentation at the very least!

Thanks!

That error should be cleaned up, but what it's essentially saying is that the user in question does not have any forums where they have the permission to approve posts.

What you'll want to verify is that in the control panel that your admin group has the ability to approve any posts. Easiest way to do this is to go through Group Management and click on the Forum Link next to the Administrator Group. In there make sure that the "Can Approve Moderated Posts" is set to 1, for all forums.

While you're there, just to be sure, your admin group should have all of the lower permissions, such as delete any posts, delete topics, etc.

Once that's done then the error should clear up and you should get a list of all posts that are in need of approval.

So, for admins to moderate posts, they can either go to that screen, or they can edit an individual post while reading topics and you'll see the Approve Post button there as well.

Hmmm I thought I had given Administrator all those rights. I will double-check.

Thank you!
