An ongoing problem I have seen over the years has to do with email notifications of PMs (when turned on in a member profile). The system sends an email notification to someone when they receive a new PM and the email notification includes a link to the PM - PLUS the full text of the PM in addition to the link. People continue to reply to these emails, thinking they are replying to the person who sent the PM, despite my having changed the text at the top of the email notification to clearly read: "DO NOT REPLY TO THIS EMAIL - LOG IN AND REPLY TO PMs ON THE FORUM."
Yes, I know it is an issue with people not reading, but nevertheless it is a pain. In today's information overload world, people are often in a hurry and don't read things carefully. I'd like to somehow remove the full text of the PM from these emails and just include the link to the PM so they HAVE to log in to read and/or reply. What would I need to edit to have those PM email notifications NOT contain the body of the PM text?
For future versions I'd recommend not including the full PM text in these notifications.

I've had this happen a lot also, but don't want it turned off. I really like the feature and would hate to see if to away.
The easiest option that I can think of would be to revise the code so that the reply to email is the users email so that they would get their own email and then hopefully realize their error. Putting an option into the CP to enable/disable the option would take care of everyone.
There was been some talk about people wanting more email integration. It would be really cool it the system could be set up to add any responses to the email back into the PM thread.

I been thinking that too. Just like facebook sms, if you reply to it, it gets posted on the wall as a comment or message.

I think email piping and pop3/imap parsing would be very useful in today's world as users could use email as a method of posting/responding as well as MMS from their cellphones.
However, nuking the text from the PT's isn't really an option for any of my sites..
I'm not sure which template it's in, but it's likely that it's as simple as removing a variable from the template to stop the pt body from sending with the pt notification

PS, it would be great if someone could tell me which template that might be in - I'd like to experiment.
