Hello.
We had some kind of server problem at the weekend. Since then, my forums are not working properly.
Below is the output following the permissions check:
cache (FAIL) cache_builders/custom (OK) gallery/default/full (FAIL) gallery/default/medium (FAIL) gallery/default/thumbs (FAIL) gallery/index.html/full (OK) gallery/index.html/medium (OK) gallery/index.html/thumbs (OK) images/avatars/default (FAIL) images/forumimages/default (FAIL) images/graemlins/default (FAIL) images/graemlins/default_dark (FAIL) images/icons/default (FAIL) images/icons/default_dark (FAIL) images/markup_panel/default (FAIL) images/markup_panel/default_dark (FAIL) images/news/default (FAIL) images/news/default_dark (FAIL) images/moods/default (FAIL) images/moods/default_dark (FAIL) includes (OK) languages/english (FAIL) languages/english/admin (FAIL) sessions (FAIL) styles (OK) templates/default (FAIL) tmp (FAIL)
My style sheet isn't working properly and the portal boxes are not updating/refreshing.
I cannot FTP my site since the outage so I have reported that to the hosts. I managed to change permissions using File Manager on cPanel but even though that said the permissions were correct, when I run the permissions check the above fails appear.
The hosts claim the permissions are ok but the forums are not working efficiently and the checks keep failing.
Sad face.

Possibly the folder permissions are correct now but you have some files corrupted.
In case you are not aware. When you run the permissio check, you can click on each one and it will expand and show te files in that folder and which one or ones failed. for example select images/avatar/default It will show all of the files in that folder and which ones pass or fail.

Thanks. If they are corrupt, is there something I can do? Does it need a new install for example or is there a command I can execute?
I contacted Mindraven today about moving there as Softlayer aren't great at coming forward.

I would check the files like I said for starters. And see if it is just a couple of files that have a problem. It may be just some need to be corrected for either permissions or replaced. Since you don't have ftp right now.
As far as moving to mindraven I think you will be extremely pleased with the service. I know I am.
As far as the cache folder. normally you can delete all the files except for the html file. They get rebuilt on their own.

Corrupt files need to be replaced with working ones; if that is the case. The only way to really check is to compare their contents to working files.
