Hey guys, We are currently trying to upgrade our board from classic 6.7.3 to threads 6.5.5 (I know this is strange, but we have our reasons). I have searched everywhere I could think of for the files required for the upgrade, but I can't find them. I already have threads 6.5.5 installed on our server, but I have hit a brick wall. As far as I could tell, the files, "ubbimport.cnf.php" and "ubbimport.php" are required. Does anyone know where I could find these for download???
Thanks, B

I have a classic to threads importer - but there is no mention of those files.
(Also it's probably the import to threads 6.7.x)
May I ask where you got the name of those files from? ("ubbimport.cnf.php" and "ubbimport.php" )

I got the file names from the following document on this board: https://www.ubbcentral.com/support/docs/ubbthreads/UBBclassic_to_UBBthreads_tips.htmlThey are mentioned in Step 4 under the heading, "Instructions for Performing the Actual Import" I have searched high and low for these files, but got nada. I did perform a successful test upgrade from classic to threads 7.5.6p2 using "classic_import.php", but that's not what we really need.

The importers in the CP will only reflect the latest build (v7) as v6 reached EOL when v7 was released.

That's why I was hoping someone on here could direct me to a place where these files may still exist. Or that someone may have them and would be willing to share.
Thanks, B

Thanks, B So what you are looking for is someone that has a extremely old virgin zip file of a defunct version. Good Luck! Finding some archive that has what you need. Why someone would wish to upgrade from a unsupported version to a newer unsupported version is beyond me. Let alone the security /bug issues. Might as well leave your forum on the version you have, I know you don't wish to disclose the reason why. I just can't figure out why anyone would wish to do so.

Also, sharing of downloaded archives of versions of copyright software would violate ones license agreement... Even for such an old (defunct and discontinued) version.

I don't really see how the sharing of a file between two licensed users for upgrading between two still-available version violates anything, but I'm not a license agreement writer either.
I don't mind disclosing why we might want to upgrade to 6.5.5 instead of the current version. We are exploring all of our options for forum software at this point before committing to the upgrade. We are unsure of whether we want to stay with UBB or not. We are likely going to stick it out with UBB, but were wanting to try others out as well. We were wanting to perform test conversions between threads, SMF, and phpBB. There are already converters available to go from 6.5.5 to X software so we would not have to bother writing our own, but at this point, it looks like that's what we're going to have to do to.

The only authorized location to acquire files is the member area; not to mention that no one can validate if you have a current subscription to the member area... The only way for you to acquire any files would be to ask UBBSystems ( clicky). Another thing to keep in mind is that these forums are user to user forums; no user here works for UBBSystems (with the exception of the user UBBSystems).

Ok that makes sense... I was under the impression that only licensed users could register for the board. Thanks, Gizmo.

The only place one can get files without violating their license is to go through the member area.
