Stop forum spam has 4 levels 1st level is full manual, where all you need is to have enabled it. ( no api key is required ). This allows you to manually check users when viewing their profile for being reported as spammers. 2nd level automatically checks the new registration list for any possible spammers and identifies them ( takes a little time checking with stop forum spam, if you have a large registration queue ) Now the Good and Bads will indicate whether the SFS DB had a hit. Now you will ONLY get a 'Report Spammer' option if you select either the 3rd or 4th option, because to report to Stop Forum Spam, you NEED a key. More info without a key will just show good or bad and you can decide to ban them, delete them or reject their new member request.. whatever. If you DO have a key, then the more info will popup and allow you to report spammer from there. The difference between the 3rd and 4th options is that the 3rd option informs the potential member that there was a problem and points them to Stop Forum Spam to rectify the issue ( what giz' mod was essentially )... The 4th option, just fails silently, allowing the potential spammer to 'think' they signed up, but in reality they were stiffed silently. So it might fool some bot programs... Its your choice what level you want to use

A note about not abusing reports; they will blacklist your server if you provide a lot of fictitious entries...

It's probably obvious after the install, but do we need to purchase a key from somewhere?

I've been using the StopForumSpam site for a while now with hand-coded alterations to UBB. This built in version looks good and will give the same functionality that I've come to depend on. Thank you for integrating this.

I assume this feature only kicks in when a user is in your Registration Queue? I don't see it in the 7.57 control panel anywhere or am I missing a sub-menu under Member Management or something?

it only kicks in, depending upon your setting the wiki is a good place to start, if the 1st post in this thread wasn't clear... set it to semi-auto ( hint )

The writeup on the wiki should cover any questions on the stop forum spam feature.

The stop forum spam integration is included in v7.5.7 and has a control panel tab, the mod at UBBDev does not have this level of control panel integration.

OK, thanks, I understand there is no cpanel integration in 7.5.6 and I did install the UBBDev v0.5 mod. This should still work with 7.5.6 right? I am getting a large red bar with "Cannot Connect to the Stop Forum Spam API. " in the registration queue even though I have put the API Key into the two language files. Will Stop Forum Spam still work with this mod, or do you recommend upgrading to 7.5.7?

AS stated ,You are using a mod and should seek support at ubbdev.com. Although Giz will probably chime in with help.
