Hi Guys, i'm doing a dry run from 7.5.6p2 to 7.5.8 This is on a localhost under wamp server.
Anyway 7.5.6p2 went as expected and no problems. (The Admin Control Panel Update Basically ) So upgrading from 7.5.6p2 -->> 7.5.7 went and behaves as expected.
Now I have a little time to update again so ive downloaded the 7.5.8 zip. (today). Copied over the complete install folder and when i run select upgrade it tells me that its complete. (This upgrade has been complete). And showing 7.5.7 in the logo center page. And the link to return to my forums.
I've looked at the upgrade.php file and in the first line it states Script Version 7.5.8error_reporting
I've not uploaded all the 7.5.8 files as I use the updater to give me a list of files to be updated first. Ive never had this problem before.
Just as well i done my dry run if there is a problem with the updater ?

Where that can be a valid upgrade path; it's not one I'd ever trust, basically you're trusting a human to remember to update a changelog file to the upgrader to supposedly mark all of the files.
I take and compare my current version vs the stock files for that version, then move those changes over to the new files and upload ALL files to my server and run the upgrade steps; I do this for client installs too.

I know that but its never failed before. I do use the list as a guide in case there are issues. But its never failed to acknowledge there is a upgrade to be done.
The problem is that if its not going to me to run the upgrade script then i have problems on my server. So i'm wondering if the 7.5.8 has a bug if you go from 7.5.7 ? And i need to be sure before i go from 7.5.7 to 7.5.8 on the server you see.
Many people may have gone from 7.5.6 to 7.5.8 without any issues.
I fully get the heads up Gizmo, and its good advice but i think there is an issue with the upgrade script 7.5.7 to 7.5.8
and I need to either verify it by rolling back locally 7.5.6 to 7.5.8 skipping 7.5.7 I just hoped someone may have the time to verify with me.

I'm not sure if there are any db or style changes between those particular releases, you'd have to dismantle the upgrader to see what checks it has to just transition over like that.
