Help please, we lost our ban list in the console for some reason. Can someone tell me where to look for it in a txt file or whatever file through FTP?

Well the ban list is stored in tables in the database. There is a separate one for email, host(ip) and users. They all begin with banned. So the only way to restore what you had is to login to your cpanel and use something like phpmyadmin and take a peek.
Possibly they need a repair or if you have a db backup you can restore just those three tables.
FYI, If they got wiped I would suspect the whole database need to be checked.

BTW, I took a peek and I don't have admin access anymore so I can't check for errors.

Okay, I don't think your other admin did anything wrong it is just a simple matter that the data table got hosed. I also replied with more details at your site on that same topic. In the admin forum. I just got bumped off as admin but it should be there.

I cant find any backed up data tables. And I just checked the backup storage directory and ran a test and it is telling me that the test for backups is failing. So at this point I don't believe that there are any table backups.

Well the last backup attempt was 06/12/15 07:19 PM By you. If the test fails then you need to ftp to the folder and see if it exists and then set permissions to like 755 or 777. Same goes for server logs. If you want I can copy paste what somebody had posted for now. Do you have a current database backup from cpanel?

I made a new folder outside of the root called Newbackup and gave it 777. The Cpannel is still saying it is a bad dir.

Are you using the full server path to the directory, versus the virtual path your FTP client displays?

Your path was incorrect. I fixed it and it is running a backup now. You need to do the same for mysql error logs. It is going to take a while to complete. I also added your old ip ban list to the database.

Yes it is working now, so any of the previous attempts must have flailed. I do have server backups every day. But I don't have the tables which now I will get pronto.

I have SQL Server software should I install it?
Or is this the wrong format of the table being backed up?
On table backups what is the normal file extension?

I generally open any files with coding in them with notepad, edit plus plus, or edit plus; you do not want to open them with utilities that'll add additional characters, such as Word or Wordpad.

Yes the ubb cp works for table backups and will be slow. In fact it is still running but you really should use the cpanel for database backups. Due to if you need to restore a table or database the ubb method will make you restore one table at a time which is like 64 tables and you still need to use cpanel. Where cpanel can let you backup the whole database and restore the whole database with one step. Till your database gets very large.

Your new backup ubbt_BANNED_HOSTS.sql Is only going to have what i added a few moments ago from the txt file .
And by the way I am still running a ubb cp backup. Your import map table is huge for some reason.
