Hi

I received today a phishing scam email. It appeares to be sent out from my domain britbike.com
saying My password is set to expire in 3 days

see image of email below. I say beware of these emails and asks what Can I do? I don't want my members to get lured.
Please advise. I do have the raw code of the email if it helpes.
Please advise!!!

This doesn't even remotely look like a UBB.threads email; it appears someone is harvesting emails and mailing users.

What can you do? What's the destination of the "email settings" link? Report it to their web host.

Gizmo thanks for your reply, at fisrt I was only thinking it was for the forum but it could be for the domain I don't know.
I wanted to make you guys aware that someone may phish yours as well as my members for passwords.

the url that the email settings link was for a domain in indonesia, not sure how to report it to their web host.

You can whois the domain at https://whois.domaintools.com/ and the host generally would be listed in the DNS records

Thank you for the link Giz, It seems that I deleted the email when it was in the trash bin so I guess its gone.

part of the phishing link was "kky.co.id/"

Looking at the whois for kky.co.id the DNS is hosted at the ISP DNET.NET.ID.

There are millions of phishing ads online these days, you should educate your users on ensuring the domain name on any communications is indeed your own, and that you'd never request their passwords via EMail. Additionally, you might point out that any forum generated emails will be sent through the forum software and they should look like the forum (posting an example from a PT notification would probably work really well).
