Hi,

Members on our forum asks why they can't hop to another forum via the menu that in some cases is at the bottom.
see this link to the UBB general discussion category
https://www.ubbcentral.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/category/2/general-discussion

So I suggest for coming versions that you add the hop menu to these category pages as well.

Thank you
Morgan

I tend to agree because it used to have a hop to in the bottom of the page.

However

That does not exist anymore at the bottom of the page..
So that statement is incorrect for the current version.

The hop to with the current version was moved to a tab appearing button above a current post of a topic or reply. or when selecting a forum to view..

I can not recall if when viewing categories it was visible when viewing just one category in prior versions.
But again instead of being at the bottom of the page now a tab/ button at the top.

I think it makes more sense to be at the bottom.

So when visiting a category or forum or post you review what is available, You scroll to the bottom and want to go elsewhere.

But now you must scroll back to the top of the page to go elsewhere.
Might as well use the back button on the browser.

the modern hop-to is in the top
the classic hop-to is in the bottom

the problem with the classic hop-to under the lists and posts was that when you had really long forum names, it would prevent the page width from being reduced as needed.

Either way, there is an option in the CP to choose which you want to display since at least version 7.5.9 (2015)

edit:
corrected the verbiage used in my post. why? some history:
In 7.5.8 the single forum jumper function had been referred to in the code by both "jump-to" and "hop-to".
In versions 7.5.9, the naming was consolidated to just "hop-to", and it became optional to display in the top or bottom of lists/posts.

Control Panel > General > General Settings

Leave "Hop To Popup Menu Width" blank to have the Hop-To menu display under the post/gallery list, and posts.

Okay isaac

This is my findings.
At first reading I felt this was not the case because I have never entered a value for the hop to popup menu width.
Well I revisited the setting.
Selected the field and found the cursor not completely left justified.
So a non visible character was inserted in the field.
Once I deleted the entry in the field and saved it .
The hop to menu re-appeared in the bottom

In fact I had two sites with the same issue.
In which I never added a value to that field in either site So I assumed it was changed in the 7.7.4 release.
Because it was there prior to the upgrade to 7.7.4

I am not sure what character was inserted because it was not visible and now deleted.
Nor do I know how it got inserted to begin with.

But it does work correctly as designed now once it was deleted on both sites.
