I am having a devil of a time getting smtp to work without an open relay of which I would never even consider..

Can you add Authenticated smtp variables to the code. I don't see a place to put user@name.com and password for authentication

Navigate to CP -> Master Settings -> Primary -> Advanced Mail Configuration

Thanks, Mors for asking this question and to Gismo for answering it.

Our webhost started requiring the use of credentials in order to send mail. I was able to format the SMTP hostname like Gizmo's example and add the credentials. Now working like a champ.
