Hello everyone,
I've had a request from a users wife - unfortunately, the user isn't well and she is hoping to be able to save his posts (many of them are stories) for his grandchildren, so that they can have some memories additional memories of their grandfather.
Is there a way for me to export all of his posts, so that I can help her in this or is it a manual process, where I will need to wade through the 700+ threads he's started (ignoring the 7,000+ he has contributed to!) and 'cut, copy, paste', into a Word doc?
TIA

Its quick and dirty, but you should be able to search the posts table and at least capture all of his individual posts, (access PHPMyAdmin and export the data returned from): SELECT `POST_ID`, `TOPIC_ID`, `POST_POSTED_TIME`, `POST_SUBJECT`, `POST_DEFAULT_BODY`, `POST_POSTER_NAME` FROM `ubbt_POSTS` WHERE `USER_ID` = 10961 ORDER BY `POST_POSTED_TIME` DESC; Where ubbt_POSTS is your posts table and 10961 is your target userid.

Thanks Gizmo - unfortunately, that is above my technical ability! From your reply, I assume there is no way to do it using the forum software?

Not a feature that we currently have in the base code, no.

Hi Simon,
If you're looking for help in this please let me know. Stories like this strike a chord with me.
Send me a PM, we'll talk to see how I can help. I run a UBB forum as well - as you'd expect.
