My mail server requires authentication for sending emails.
I get an error (SMTP server srespons: 550 Not Local Host Not a gateway. How do I configure wbb.threads to authenticate to send emails with my email sever?

All emails are sent via BCC. Some servers require at least one address in the To: field. If this is required by your server, enter a valid email address here. Multiple emails will be sent to this address depending on number of users you are sending to.

Send emails one at a time, instead of using BCC:
Note: This option will be slower than sending via BCC."

The issues is with the sending email addy (the From:)
When the forum admin sends out an email to any user; the mail server must receive a password from that email account before it will send the email to anyone. This is to keep the mail server from being used as a spam gateway

Threads doesn't really have any mail settings of it's own. It uses php's built in mail() function. So if PHP can't send mail, or you need to provide a password, then you'll have to examine your PHP setup.
