Hi from a UBBhreads newbie!
I have imported data from UBB Classic 672 to the UBB T 6.5
Funny thing is that the user number starts a few bumbers from the latest member. Ie I have imported 1700 users and the numbers start at 1705??
Any inputs appreciated Thank you! Martin

This is actually the way it is supposed to work. To prevent 2 users from getting the same user ID # during the import process, we add the total number of users to the last number (plus a few more) then start incrementing the member numbers from there.
In UBB.threads member numbers really aren't used for anything, so it shouldn't matter what number a user has.

Martin,
The same thing happened to me and I too was worried about this. As Don posted above, the member number in Threads bears no importance. Also, keep in mind that any future upgrade to UBB.fusion (or whatever the new forum software will be called...) will involve the renumbering of all users anyway.

Thank you for very quick answers.
I got a bit puzzled as postings I´ve made myself in UBB-C, suddenly belonged import to another user after running it in UBB-T.
I will rebuild member metadata, forum metadata and forums and then try another export from UBB C into UBB T.
Thanks! Martin

Martin, one thing you may want to check on is whether some of your users share the same display name in UBBC. If this is the case then only one of them will be carried over during the import process.

Thanks Conrad. AFAIK no one share exactly the same display name.
What puzzles me is that I did rebuild member metadata, forum metadata and forums and then tried another export/import from UBB C into UBB T.
Now, a few users such as myself (!) has been replaced in UBBT by other users and they seem to be the posters instead the correct user. Currently, the only posts are the ones imported from UBBC. One has reportedly three postings while my count is more than 1200. That user seems to have made all my postings, but he still has a count of 3 postings.
I would love to run the UBB T but it does not seem like we get along....
Thanks! Martin

MartinB, I recommend that you put in a support ticket. There is a problem with the UBB.threads 6.5 importer. If you put in a ticket, we can email the updated files to you. It should fix this problem.

Thanks everyone
I have started a support ticket and I´ve got an answer. However, there seems to be a problem with the https:// certifikate. At least for me. I am not able to access the ticket response page anymore.
Back to the issue. I have followed the instructions from the crew but the symptoms are the same. In imported postings, it mix up the authors with other authors.
Thanks /M

Since it's a bit easier to work on an issue like this via ticket (because we can see the issue, and work on it with you) - it would be great if we could try that... Are you still unable to post to the ticket?
If you're able to see the ticket, which is using the SSL certificate, I don't think you should be prevented from posting... The response window is a 'pop-up' - do you have a pop-up blocker enabled that would be killing the window?

The SSL problem with tickets only occured during the day in which we were moving infopop.com to a new server, you should not have the same difficulties any longer.
