I am trying to use the codes either [name] or :name: to get my graemlins to work. All work with the shortcut keys but only ONE works with the codes and when you edit the post, you see it as the shortcut key. HELP!!! <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" />

Thanks,
Holly

I think they are case sensitive, are you doing it exactly as entered?

They are not case sensitive as in my control panel one is COLOR,
in the post, I put :color: and it works. But is the ONLY one and all the programming is the same. It is bizarre. <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

"color" might conflict because there's already markup code for [ color: red ] etc.... Not sure I follow what exactly doesn't work and what dose.

A link to a forum where anonymous posting is enabled would let me check it out. <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

The ONE that works:
$ubbt_lang['COLOR']

The ones that do not
$ubbt_lang['CUP']
$ubbt_lang['YES']

I went back and tried upper case...just in case....still not working.

thanks,
Holly

Everythign seems to work - are you trying to do  and  - those won't work because you've already got :y and :n setup as smilie shortcuts, so they take precident. Is that the question?

OK...I took the shortcut off the winner's cup icon. I type in :cup: and [cup] and neither display the image. What next?

When I type :cup: I get the image correctly -
The short code/long code doesn't have anything to do with it. The point is if you're already using :n then  will get confused, it'll conver the :n to the image and you'll just have o: displayed.

The problem was that I could not get the long names to work. I think I know why now....the graemlin language has to be added

[]THe UBBCode for a Graemlin may be a regular word, or you may support multiple languages by using the $ubbt_lang['GRAEMLIN'] format after adding the entry to your generic.php language files. [/]

:cup: worked because I changed its shortcut to that. Make sense now? Sorry I have been confusing. <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" />

I think I see.
What have you typed for the name? Did you type "cup" or did you put $ubbt_lang['cup'] ? You only need to use the language string if you're going to support multiple languages. I've never tested the language file functionality using graemlins - does that not work, or did you just not enter the strings into your language files?

Josh..thanks so much for all your help. You are right, I was putting in the whole string in, not just CUP. Whew! It is working thanks to you and tech support here!!

Once again, thank you!!
