I'm running UBB.classic 6.5.0. A guy recently registered with a pornographic URL in the Homepage field in his profile. I deleted it, but the next day it contained a similar URL. I deleted it again, this time locking his profile, and contacted him by e-mail. He claims he is not entering values in the Homepage field.
Locking the profile has prevented a reoccurence of the problem. I've scanned other recent profiles and don't see porno URLs, so I don't believe it's a virus on the server. Is anyone aware of a virus out there that causes this problem in UBB profiles?
Assuming you'd remembered to click "Submit Changes" at the bottom of the CP screen after you removed the URL, then if it wasn't you who put it back there and it wasn't him, it must have been the tooth fairy. <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Supports the theory he's taking the p**s. IMHO you've done the right thing locking his profile. Just watch out for affiliate links in his posts.
Agreed, just keep him locked out; if he complains tell him that due to issues with his account you decided to lock it and it will not be re-instated since you don't allow or appreciate pornographic content on your site, even through links.
Same EXACT happened on my UBB 6.5. A porno page was entered as a home page on the profile. I deleted and emailed the guy. He pleaded with me that his computer has a virus and is doing this. The guy has been posting on my site and seems like a normal guy, not a troublemaker.
There are a few adware programs that do this. They also change the user's home page and constantly launch popups. Direct him to download, install Ad-Aware and SpyBot Search and Destroy.
