Greetings.
Using 6.72
I want to delete some "test" members I used to set the board up.
I have - delete the user under the control panel - rebuilt the member metadata
They still show up as if I had done nothing.
What to do?
Thanks,
David Clark Cochran, Ga.

How are these users being shown? Are you using the "Member Maintenance" and trying to list them or are you looking at posts that where made with the account?
If the later, posts aren't removed when purging accounts, if the prior I'm not entirely sure, do you recieve any errors when purging the accounts?

Hello --
I'm looking at 'member maintenance.'
Posts will delete, but not the user.
If I go to member maintenance and search for 'all users' they will show up. If I search for them by user number, they will show up. If I search for them by name, they show up.
In other words, they ain't deleted, even though I have followed instructions to delete 'em.

I think your best bet on this issue (as it's so simple to delete a user that even a trained monkey could do it) is to log a Support Ticket as you may be experiancing some sort of bug...

That's what I was thinking, too, but wanted to check here first.

If you delete a member will their member # go to the next person who registers?
For example, I have 1100 members. I delete member #20. Will member #1101 actually be given #20?
And what if somebody wants that member #. Can I assign it to them?
Thanks

Member numbers are never reused. The next member will be 1101.
Don't try and renumber people.
