Two weeks ago we lost all our "Primary Settings" in our UBB.threads 7.1.
It happen while we were updating the Censored Words list. After clicking the [Update Primary Settings] everything blanked out on us; i.e. we lost ALL our Primary Settings on each of the General, Logging and Censor tabs.
We were able to reenter everything we remembered, but I think we are still missing something because our members are not able to stay connected to the Forum.
Some of them will read through posts and then click Reply only to find themselves at the login screen again. Other can't log in at all, always returning them to the log in screen after every attempt.
Is this a Cookie problem? Currently my cookie setting are: Cookie Path: / Custom Cookie Prefix: (blank) Cookie Expiration Time: (blank)
Any ideas?
Thank you, Matt Perosi

You'll want to look through your includes/config.inc.php file. Make sure the SESSION_PATH is set properly. There isn't a switch for this in the control panel, so you'll need to set this manually if it's not correct. It should be whatever you have for the FULL_PATH setting with /sessions as the end. Also make sure the FULL_URL is set properly. It could be that this is set to just http://yourdomain.com instead of http://www.yourdomain.com which would cause some cookie issues.

Ah HAH!
Okay I didn't know the config.inc.php file had all the settings in it.
I was able to look at a backup copy I had. However it turns out the only that that I was missing was the COOKIE_LIFETIME of 30758400.
My minimal testing so far shows me that everything is working correctly again.
Thank you.

So, I'm having similar issues. Not only can users not stay connected, but they also log in and it takes them back to the screen to do it again. Cookies are enabled in these browsers and it always works the second time.
I checked the config.inc.php file and all seems to be set properly (SESSION_PATH, FULL_PATH, FULL_URL, COOKIE_stuff). Other ideas? I'm using 7.2.2 at horizonsk8school.org.

What are the permissions of your sessions folder - it should be 777. Also make all current files within in 666.

sounds like they may be going to: http://yoursite.tld/When you have your full url set to: http://www.yoursite.tld/And running into a cross domain cookie issue. theres a solution for apache users in the faq forum that show you how to only allow one domain to access your site (and redirect the other)
