Listing is for an extremely rare 2002 original release Apevia X-Pider version of the classic Chenming 601 ATX case, more commonly referred to as the Chieftec Dragon.
This specific X-Pider is extremely well kept and has been thoroughly cleaned recently; not a speck of dust in it. There are very few blemishes on the case itself but it is used, so the few marks it has I've shown in images - mostly on the acrylic window itself, which is easily replaceable.
Like all first edition X-Piders, this case features a super clean and light-weight aluminum frame, a full acrylic side panel window with a GPU cooling fan mount on it, front panel USB & audio ports as well as the all 4 original clear blue LED case fans.
Also included is the standard purple cable management bracket and all 3 purple 80mm fan brackets found in every Chenming 601 derivative case. The front bezel door features a rare and period-correct AMD Athlon XP case badge sticker.
This case will fit up to an Extended ATX board & 300mm GPU naturally or up to 415mm GPU by removing the driv platforms (a very easy mod). Since the 3.5" hard drive cages aren't included, this is an ideal case for someone with a large modern-day GPU looking for a full-size ATX case for a retro sleeper build.
In a confusing series of events, this was originally branded as a Turbo Case X-Pider, which was then seemingly re-branded as the Apevia X-Pider during the early 2000s. Later on, Apevia was rebranded to Aspire which seems to be the more familiar modern-day brand.
Commonly known as the Chieftec Dragon, these cases were made by the Chenming Company and resold by a host of companies in the early Y2K-era, each with a unique front bezel design & other small optional features. The most notable companies that produced this style of full-size ATX chassis were Acutake, Alienware, Antec, Apevia, Apex, Aspire, Enermax, Koolance, MGE, Raidmax, Thermaltake, Ultra and, of course, Chieftec as well as other lesser-known companies making generic Chieftec Clones that had a similar appearance to the Chieftec Dragon but lacked the same 601 frame underneath.
