Shop Store About Us Reviews Amazon Kindle Colorsoft 7" Color eReader 16GB Black WiFi Waterproof Excellent A Closer Look
The Amazon Kindle Colorsoft is a 7-inch color eReader built for readers who want comics, graphic novels, cookbooks, magazines, and highlighted passages to appear in color while keeping the glare-free comfort of an E Ink display. Finished in black, the slim body measures roughly 6.9 by 5 inches and just over 0.3 inches thick, with a weight of about 7.6 ounces that sits comfortably in one hand during long reading sessions in bed, on a commute, or while traveling. The Colorsoft display uses an oxide backplane and a light guide with nitride LEDs to deliver rich color at 150 ppi while text and black-and-white content render at a crisp 300 ppi, so standard books look as sharp as on a premium monochrome Kindle. An adjustable warm light shifts the screen from white to amber for easier reading at night, and the front light brightness can be set manually to suit any room, from a dark bedroom to a bright sunlit patio. The device supports Wi-Fi for downloading books from the Kindle Store, syncing reading progress, and accessing Kindle Unlimited, while Bluetooth pairs headphones or speakers for Audible audiobooks. Color highlighting lets readers mark passages in yellow, orange, blue, or pink, and page turns feel fast and responsive. An IPX8 waterproof rating protects against accidental immersion in fresh water, making the reader suitable for the bath, pool, or beach without a separate case, and the glare-free screen stays legible even in direct sunlight, with no distracting reflections across the page.
