Belkin FireWire to SCSI Adapter
Belkin FireWire to SCSI Adapter
This is a device that converts between SCSI and FireWire (IEEE 1394). It was made in Taiwan and sold by Belkin. The same hardware was also sometimes sold as Orange Micro.
The F5U541 has a 6-pin FireWire connector on one side and a 25 SCSI connector on the other. There is also an optional DC power adapter input -- I never needed that since it typically gets power over FireWire (or even SCSI).
I purchased this years ago to use with an Apple iMac that had FireWire 400 and later used with a FireWire 800 iMac. I used it to operate a number of different SCSI Scanners (I used Vuescan software). I also used it to import some old tapes from a SCSI tape drive.
Over the years I collected a bunch of different FireWire and SCSI cables as well as adapters and terminators. This allowed me to connect different devices to my Macs. I've decided to sell this as a bundle so that the new owner can benefit from the different pieces. Remember that you need a computer with a FireWire 400 or 800 port. And you may need SCSI drivers as well. Some people keep an old Mac around just for connecting SCSI devices.Included:
