The Black Box Freedom II KV0004A-R2 is a 4-port zero-touch KVM switching solution that allows one keyboard and mouse to control up to four computers. Instead of repeatedly using hotkeys or manually selecting a computer, the Freedom II can switch keyboard and mouse control as the cursor moves between configured computer screens.
This makes the Freedom II particularly useful for multi-computer workstations where several computers and displays need to operate together as one convenient workspace.
Free-Flow Configuration Software
Black Box Free-Flow configuration software can be used to define the physical arrangement of the displays connected to the different computers. This allows the Freedom II to match the actual monitor layout on your desk so that moving the mouse toward another screen automatically transfers keyboard and mouse control to the corresponding computer.
Different workstation layouts can be configured depending on how your monitors and computers are arranged.
Example Configurations
- Four computers in a row: PC 1 → PC 2 → PC 3 → PC 4
- 2 × 2 layout: two computer displays on top and two underneath
- Three computers: one display on the left, one in the center, and one on the right
- Mixed vertical layout: one computer display positioned above or below another
- Multi-monitor workstation: computers can be arranged to correspond with a larger physical desktop layout
For example, if PC 2 is physically located to the left of PC 3, moving the cursor off the left side of PC 3's display can automatically transfer control to PC 2. If another configured computer is positioned above PC 3, moving the cursor through the corresponding upper screen boundary transfers control to that computer.
