The Brocade BR-MLX-MR2-X is the Gen2 Management Module (-X variant) for the Brocade MLXe and NetIron XMR Series modular core routers — compatible with 4-slot, 8-slot, and 16-slot chassis systems. As the brain of the MLXe chassis, this management module controls all routing, management, and system functions, running Brocade NetIron OS with support for up to 1 million IPv4 routes and 240,000 IPv6 routes — the highest routing table capacity available in the MLX MR2 lineup, making it ideal for large-scale BGP, MPLS, and service provider core deployments.

The BR-MLX-MR2-X features 4 GB SDRAM, an internal 2 GB compact flash drive, an external compact flash slot (2 GB card included), an RS-232 serial console port, and a dedicated 10/100/1000 Ethernet management port. Management module redundancy is supported in a 1:1 configuration for maximum availability in production environments. Now supported by Extreme Networks following the Brocade acquisition.
