FACTORY SEALED
The Cisco Catalyst IE3300 Rugged Series is a range of compact, fanless, modular DIN-rail industrial switches that expand from a 10-port base to as many as 26 ports with IEM-3300 expansion modules, hardened for vibration, shock, surge, and electrical noise. The IE-3300-8U2X-E is the 8-port UPOE configuration with two 10G SFP+ uplinks and a 480 W UPOE budget at the Network Essentials tier. At the Network Essentials tier it provides Layer 2 switching with inter-VLAN and IPv4 static routing. The otherwise-identical Network Advantage IE-3300-8U2X-A adds full dynamic routing and policy-based segmentation for deployments that need it. Because the series has no stacking, resiliency comes from REP, Fast REP, and MRP ring topologies and from dual redundant DC power inputs.Technical Details
The Cisco Catalyst IE-3300-8U2X-E is a Layer 3 managed, fanless DIN-rail industrial switch with 8 UPOE Gigabit Ethernet copper ports and two 1G/10G SFP+ uplinks, running Cisco IOS XE with the perpetual Network Essentials license. It forwards at line rate on all ports for all packet sizes, holds up to 16,000 MAC addresses, and is a modular platform that expands from its 10-port base with IEM-3300 expansion modules. It provides UPOE and 802.3bt (Type 3 and Type 4) power on its eight copper access ports from a 480 W budget, delivering up to 60 W and 90 W to high-draw endpoints. It supports inter-VLAN and IPv4 static routing; dynamic routing protocols are not included at the Network Essentials tier. Operating temperature is -40 °C to +70 °C in a vented enclosure, and it is fanless with dual redundant DC power inputs. It is used for wired connectivity of industrial devices such as PLCs, HMIs, drives, cameras, and sensors in factory-floor, utility, and transportation networks.Best ForThe IE-3300-8U2X-E suits factory-floor, utility, and transportation networks that need to power industrial endpoints such as high-power endpoints such as PTZ camera housings, multi-radio access points, and heaters, as well as IP cameras and phones over Gigabit Ethernet, with a 480 W budget and two 1G/10G SFP+ uplinks for aggregation. Its fanless DIN-rail chassis, -40 °C to +70 °C range, dual redundant DC inputs, and modular expansion fit unconditioned enclosures. A 480 W budget is suitable for mixed deployments of these powered devices; actual device counts depend on each endpoint's draw. The Network Essentials license fits Layer 2 and static-routed segments; sites needing dynamic routing should order the Network Advantage IE-3300-8U2X-A instead.
