• Which Cisco switches is this STACK-T1-3M designed for?
  This Type 1 cable is the Cisco-specified stacking cable for stackable Catalyst 3850 Series switches and Catalyst 9300 modular uplink models (C9300) running StackWise-480. It is not for Catalyst 9300L / 9300LM (which use STACK-T3 with the C9300L-STACK-KIT for StackWise-320). Note: the WS-C3850-48XS 3850 SKU does not support StackWise-480 and cannot use this cable.
• Is this cable compatible with Catalyst 9300X switches?
  Not by default. Catalyst 9300X modular uplink switches use StackWise-1T as their native stacking technology, not StackWise-480. In mixed stacks that include both 9300 and 9300X members, a network administrator may configure the stack to run at StackWise-480 speed — at which point STACK-T1 cabling applies — but this is a deliberate configuration choice made by the admin and is not a default operating mode. For a pure 9300X stack running at native StackWise-1T speed, this cable is not the correct part.
• What is the difference between STACK-T1 and STACK-T3?
  STACK-T1 is the cable for StackWise-480 (Catalyst 3850 and Catalyst 9300 modular uplink). STACK-T3 / STACK-T3A is used with the C9300L-STACK-KIT / KIT2 adapter kits for StackWise-320 on the 9300L / 9300LM fixed-uplink switches. The connectors are mechanically different and not interchangeable.
