Creative fitted a Sony STARVIS IMX415 - a 1/2.8 inch CMOS sensor fromSony's low-light imaging line, the family used in security and industrialcameras where the requirement is a usable picture in conditions that defeatordinary sensors.
In a home office lit by one lamp and a window behind you, that is thedifference between looking present and looking like a silhouette.

The AI tracking is the second half. Face recognition follows you within theframe, and with 7x digital zoom driving electronic pan-tilt-zoom, the camerareframes as you move rather than leaving you drifting toward the edge. Standup at a whiteboard, and it comes with you.
And it is a speakerphone in its own right. Four omnidirectional MEMSmicrophones in an array, 16-bit at 48 kHz, picking up 360 degrees around theunit - not just the person directly in front of it. A built-in speakercompletes the loop, and Creative's SmartComms Kit adds two-way noisecancellation and automatic microphone switching.
That combination is what makes it a meeting room device rather than apersonal webcam. Four people around a table works.

This camera draws its power from your computer's USB port. There is nomains adapter, no power supply, no battery, and no plug.
That means no transformer, no plug adapter, and no voltage or certificationconcern of any kind. It works identically on any computer, in any country.
FLICKER CONTROL COVERS BOTH 50 Hz AND 60 HzArtificial lighting flickers at mains frequency, and a camera has tocompensate. This one supports both 50 Hz and 60 Hz settings, so lightingflicker is not an issue in any region.
USB 2.0 - CHECK YOUR CABLE AND PORTThe camera connects by USB 2.0. It works in a USB 3.0 or USB-C port with anadapter, but use the supplied cable where possible - 4K video over a longor poor quality extension cable is where dropped frames come from.
30 fps AT 4KFrame rate at 4K UHD is 30 fps. If you need 60 fps, that is available atlower resolutions on some cameras but not at 4K here.
For conferencing, teaching, and recording, 30 fps at 4K is the right side ofthe trade.
SMARTCOMMS KIT IS SOFTWAREThe noise cancellation and automatic microphone switching run throughCreative's SmartComms Kit application. The camera works as a standard UVCdevice without it - Windows, macOS, and video conferencing software willrecognise it on connection - but the intelligent audio features require thesoftware.
