Travel straight back to 2002 and the undisputed golden era of early-2000s desktop PC gaming with an authentic, beautifully preserved enthusiast powerhouse: an original Dell Dimension 4550 Mid-Tower PC running its factory-original Windows XP Professional installation!

Having the original factory operating system installation makes this machine exceptionally desirable for collectors, archivists, and retro enthusiasts: all proprietary Dell Intel 845PE chipset drivers, dedicated AGP display acceleration, Creative Sound Blaster audio hardware, and system controllers are completely native and fully configured out of the box—with zero missing driver yellow exclamation marks!

Finished in Dell’s celebrated two-tone midnight-gray and charcoal mid-tower chassis featuring the center power medallion with split diagnostic indicator lines, lower curved front intake flare, and chrome Dell emblem, the Dimension 4550 was Dell's premier high-performance desktop of the early XP generation. Powered by an authentic Socket 478 Intel Pentium 4 processor clocked at 2.66GHz (Northwood 130nm architecture, 512KB L2 cache, 533MHz FSB), 512MB of DDR SDRAM, and an internal 60GB Ultra ATA IDE hard drive (57.2 GB formatted NTFS C: partition with over 39.6 GB of free space), this tower boots cleanly and swiftly into an authentic installation of Microsoft Windows XP Professional (Version 2002, Service Pack 3)!

For retro PC gamers, vintage hardware collectors, and software archivists, an authentic bare-metal Socket 478 Windows XP machine featuring native 4X AGP and dedicated Sound Blaster silicon is the ultimate battlestation for late-1990s through mid-2000s classics that suffer from DRM blocks (SafeDisc/SecuROM), 16-bit installer bugs, scaling issues, or audio driver incompatibilities on modern operating systems. Backed by a dedicated AGP graphics card featuring 15-Pin Analog VGA and S-Video TV-Out alongside a Creative Sound Blaster PCI card with gold Gameport/MIDI, it effortlessly powers through era blockbusters like The Sims & The Sims 2, Diablo II: Lord of Destruction, RollerCoaster Tycoon 1 & 2, Half-Life & Counter-Strike 1.6, Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos, StarCraft: Brood War, Age of Empires II, Civilization III, Max Payne, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Quake III Arena, Unreal Tournament 2003/2004, and classic PopCap games.

Condition Notes

• Functional Condition: 100% bench-tested and fully operational. Boots cleanly and swiftly into its original factory installation of Windows XP Professional SP3 with all native Dell drivers, AGP graphics acceleration, and Sound Blaster audio hardware verified. The Intel Pentium 4 2.66GHz processor runs cool and responsive, memory tests healthy, and the 60GB IDE hard drive reads and writes cleanly with a healthy NTFS partition structure. The 3.5" floppy drive reads disks properly, the DVD-ROM optical drive ejects and reads media smoothly, cooling fans spin freely, and the dedicated AGP graphics card outputs a sharp, rock-solid display signal.

• Cosmetic Condition: Great vintage collector condition overall. The two-tone dark gray front bezel, central power medallion, and heavy steel side panels are structurally solid with no broken covers, missing case feet, or cracked plastic. Shows light, normal cosmetic surface marks, faint shelf wear, and minor hairline scuffs consistent with careful home/office use and vintage age. Original front badges, embossed Dell logo, rear service tag barcode label (8ZDWS21), and front chin service tag sticker remain intact and fully legible.
