Mellanox PCIe Auxiliary Card & HarnessThis auxiliary card & harness connected with the correct Mellanox Connectx-6 card (not included) supports Mellanox Socket Direct® technology which improves the performance of multi-socket servers, by enabling each of their CPUs to access the network through its dedicated PCIe interface. This enables data to bypass the QPI (UPI) and the other CPU, improving latency, performance and CPU utilization.
Certain cards also support 200Gb Ethernet. In order to obtain 200Gb/s speed, Mellanox offers ConnectX-6 Socket Direct that enable 200Gb/s connectivity on servers with PCIe Gen 3.0 capability. The adapter’s 32-lane PCIe bus is split into two 16-lane buses, with one bus accessible through a PCIe x16 edge connector and the other bus through an x16 Auxiliary PCIe Connection card (sold here). The two cards should be installed into two PCIe x16 slots and connected using two Cabline SA-II Plus harnesses.
