The R61i model that I am selling was not made with a touchpad. It is a trackpoint model, very easy to use and designed for people that want an experience that's more accurate and easier on the wrist. It uses the red rubber dot in the middle of the keyboard for the pointer. If you don't care to use the trackpoint, use my free USB mouse and you're good to go! What is TrackPoint?

A TrackPoint provides users an additional means of interacting with their laptop. The TrackPoint is a small cursor control device located in the center of the keyboard. It is red and textured, and roughly resembles a pencil eraser in appearance. Users can interact with the screen by applying pressure on the TrackPoint.

To move the cursor around, you can simply apply pressure in the direction you wish the cursor to go; if you apply more pressure, the cursor will move with greater speed. Like the TrackPad, the TrackPoint also includes shortcuts for ease of use. For example, it can be used to scroll up or down, rather than as a cursor. The benefit of the TrackPoint is that it limits all movement to a single finger, making it incredibly simple to use.

This listing is for a good running large screened IBM Lenovo R61i laptop dual booting with freshly installed Windows XP Professional and Windows 2000 Professional Sp4. It has installed Office 2010 on XP and on W2000 has Office 2000, which includes Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access, etc. It also has some various useful software and cleaning programs.

The pictures shown are a representation of the one that I will be sending you that I found on line. It is just supplied so that you can see a good representation of what it looks like. Make sure to observe the picture of the palm rest that from the factory has no touchpad. There are no refunds for no touchpad as you knew this before buying.

There are not very many Windows 2000 laptops out there anymore, heaven foroffer one with 3 GB of memory and tweaked for speed, so I have specially set a few of these up for people who need this set up for software they need to use in their office and for playing some older video games. It might be a good idea to keep a few in storage if you need to run specific software that only runs on Windows 2000. These laptops are pretty impossible to come by. When Windows 2000 came along, most laptops that are left from that time period have tiny memory and are pretty lame in processing power, so to find a laptop like this, powerful, and in this freshly installed state is pretty rare. It took me many hours to sort this out, find drivers, etc. This was no easy feat. The result is a much faster, fresh Windows 2000 that should serve you in top form for a long time to come.

You can access the internet if you wish to, but Windows 2000 internet capability is very lame compared to today's standards. The browser on here is a very old version of Opera and cannot be updated, and I've put every last update that I could find available for Windows 2000 already on it. There are features that these older versions of browsers cannot utilize that more recent operating systems can do such as watch youtube, etc. Many websites are inaccessible, etc. You can surf the web, download stuff if the old browser lets you access it, and may or may not be able to check your email, etc. I am not responsible and do not refund if you can't access this or that on the internet. There appear to be other browsers that one can use to watch youtube and see many advanced websites out there and I'm looking into it but haven't tried any yet.

It comes with a power adapter cord, a 1.73 GHz processor, 120 GB hard drive and 3 GB ram. The battery is good and the laptop also works fine with just the cord. There may be scratches, minor cracks or dings, or other marks as it is being sold used with some wear on it.
I have freshly installed everything (so no viruses like in many used computers). I also have a few identical ones available for purchase if you want to use one now and stash one or two for later use if you want to secure your ability to still use those softwares. A good powerful laptop with these operating systems on it is basically unable to be found anywhere except from me. This laptop is sold AS-IS with no refunds. If you click "see other items", The search bar will say something like "search all 94 items" but when you look at the list it will say something like "62 results". This is an glitch. Put your cursor into the search bar and click on it. The words will disappear. Then hit enter. You will now see all 94 items or however many listings I currently have! Make sure if you are looking that you see everything!
