• Thunderbolt 3/4 Macs: If your Mac only has USB-C ports, you must use a USB-C to Thunderbolt 2 Adapter before plugging in this FireWire adapter.

• FireWire 400 Devices: To connect older FW400 gear, attach a FireWire 800-to-400 adapter to the female port on this adapter.

• Power Check: While it supports 7W, some high-power FW400 devices may still require their own external power supply.

• Chain Connection: FireWire supports daisy-chaining; you can connect multiple FW devices to this single adapter port.

⚠️ Important Notes

• Directional Limitation: This adapter cannot connect modern USB-C peripherals to old Macs. It is designed to connect old FireWire devices to new Macs.

• Driver Limitation: Modern macOS versions (especially Apple Silicon) may have limited or no support for classic FireWire audio drivers.
