Genuine HP 148X (W1480X) High Yield Black Toner Cartridge
Original HP 148X black toner cartridge, part number W1480X. New and sealed in the original HP retail box. High yield cartridge rated at approximately 9,500 pages at 5% coverage (ISO/IEC 19752).
Works with HP+ printers. If your printer model ends in "e" — such as 4001dwe, 4001dne, 4001ne, 4101fdwe or 4101fdne — it is enrolled in HP+ and accepts Original HP cartridges only. This is an Original HP cartridge, so it is the correct choice for those printers. Third-party and compatible cartridges will not work in HP+ models.
North America stock. Supplied for the North America region, which is the correct region for HP LaserJet printers purchased and registered in the United States and Canada.
Which printers does this fit?
All models in the HP LaserJet Pro 4001 and MFP 4101 families, including the HP+ "e" versions:
- HP LaserJet Pro 4001n, 4001ne, 4001dn, 4001dne, 4001dw, 4001dwe

Quick check: Look at the cartridge currently in your printer. If it is marked 148X, 148A, W1480X or W1480A, this cartridge fits your machine.
148X or 148A — what is the difference?
Both cartridges fit exactly the same printers. The only difference is how many pages they print:
HP 148X (W1480X)High yield — approx. 9,500 pages. This listing.HP 148A (W1480A)Standard yield — approx. 2,900 pages.
The 148X prints roughly three times more pages for a much lower cost per page. For any office printing regularly, the 148X is the better value.
How to confirm this cartridge is genuine
You do not have to take our word for it. Every Original HP toner box carries an HP security label you can check yourself:
- Tilt the box front to back — the toner bucket icons change into shield icons.
- Tilt the box again — the word ORIGINAL and a small hp logo appear and disappear.
- Scan the QR code on the security label with your phone. HP confirms the product immediately.
The security label and serial number are photographed for every unit before dispatch.

Common questions
My printer model ends in "e". Will this cartridge work?
Yes. Printers ending in "e" are enrolled in HP+ and accept Original HP cartridges only. This is an Original HP cartridge and is the correct supply for those printers.
Will my printer show a "non-genuine cartridge" warning?
No. This is an Original HP cartridge and the printer recognises it normally.
Does the printer show the correct toner level?
Yes. The HP smart chip is included, so the remaining level is reported accurately.
I currently use the 148A. Can I switch to this one?
Yes. The 148A and 148X fit the same printers. The 148X simply holds more toner and prints around three times more pages.
My printer was bought outside North America. Will this work?
HP supplies carry regional coding. This stock is for the North America region. If your printer was purchased and registered outside the US or Canada, please message us before ordering so we can confirm compatibility.
Can I order more than one?
Yes. Message us before ordering and we will arrange combined shipping.
