They came from a MAID (Massive Array of Idle Disks - see pictures) cabinet that was provided for evaluation, but following the evaluation was not put into service and decommissioned/scrapped. Very few hours of run-time on the drives. The manufacturing date on the HDDs is Oct., Nov., Dec. 2004. They have been in storage since decommissioning. I have formatted them for Windows.
