The smart I/O expander is compatible with Arduino, Raspberry Pi, CircuitPython, native embedded systems, or any other system that can communicate by I2C. The 4B provides 3 Input/Output pins and one Input-Only pin each capable of running an independent state machine every millisecond to perform smart operations. Communications use a simple I2C protocol at up to 400kbps. This kit includes four preprogrammed 4B chips with I2C addresses 0x6C, 0x6D, 0x6E and 0x6F. You can change the address using a sketch in the Library Examples. Input Pin Modes: -Pulse Measurement -- Pulse Measurement with 8uS resolution -Debounced Input -- Debounce switches while monitoring transitions and key press time -Quadrature Decoder - Combine 2 input pins to decode rotary encoder signals Input/Output Pin Modes:
-Analog Input (10 bit with filtering, averaging, Min/Max tracking) -Servo Output (1uS pulse resolution) -PWM Output (10 bit at selectable frequencies) Watchdog -- Reset the host if it freezes
-Protected Output -- Shut off output if fault detected -I2C->UART bridge
