PRODUCT OVERVIEW

This is an IBM Storwize V3700 2072-24E SFF Expansion Enclosure, designed to provide additional disk storage capacity for compatible IBM Storwize V3700 storage systems.

The enclosure provides 24 drive bays for compatible 2.5-inch storage devices. IBM documentation lists support within the V3700 platform for various SAS-based drive configurations, including 2.5-inch SAS drives.

COMPATIBILITY

The IBM 2072-24E is an Expansion Enclosure, not a standalone V3700 control enclosure. It is intended to be used as part of a compatible IBM Storwize V3700 storage configuration. IBM identifies the 2072-24E specifically as an expansion enclosure with 24 × 2.5-inch drive slots.

Please verify compatibility with your existing storage system, firmware level, drive type and SAS cabling before purchasing.

IMPORTANT

IBM lists the 2072-24E as a Storwize V3700 product that originally became generally available in 2012. IBM's current lifecycle information shows that the model was withdrawn from the market in 2017 and reached the end of standard IBM support in 2022.
